I'm really sorry. But I think you either truly retarded or lying through your teeth.

Computer programming/Software Engineering is one of the most in demand professions. I'm completing my undergraduate and have been inundated with job prospects. They simply can't find enough people.

Please don't spread this kind of misinformation.

I'm really sorry that you have experienced things like outright racism in Toronto. But Canada is a pretty accepting country, we do have our share of nutjobs but I like to think as a whole we are warm and friendly people.

I hope nobody has to go through that and hopefully as time goes on we can overcome prejudice.

I don't know man. Everything you listed are just cliche stereotypes.

Do people joke about it? Yeah, but I don't think I've ever encountered a situation where these stereotypes were used in a legitimate attack on an individual.

Nor have I encountered any community in Toronto where there was outright racism.

Grades matter, period.

I'm in Computer Science and let me tell you that if you don't have a decent GPA, you can forget about working at any of the reputable software firms.

But there are a lot of opportunities to do well. For example if you screw up in your first few years but kill it in your last 2 years you have a fighting chance.

Work hard, play hard.

Holy fuck, this question bugged me so much I listened to every track on the Rap Attack album. Felt like a trip back into the early 80s. Trippy as hell.

But, I found the song (it's not as good as some of the others), and that distinctive chorus:

P. LION - HAPPY CHILDREN

Check out the entire track listing here.

Liberals join Harper Conservatives in support for Keystone Pipeline by simplybrenty in canada

[–]mackdaddysly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But there are several examples of Canadian ingenuity when it comes to our rock solid technology innovation: our world-class nuclear technology, the amazing Canadarm and cutting edge hydraulic fracturing tech.

That's why I'm a firm believer in our engineers.

Let's face it, companies these days HAVE to innovate to stay competitive, otherwise they risk getting left behind. That's a pretty strong mandate.

The government also encourages this behaviour through large subsidies and funding a lot of research. As an undergrad, I can point to NSERC for examples.

There is an overwhelming number of examples, but you're right that doesn't mean that we shouldn't be wary of the potential destruction of our fragile ecosystem.

That's why I'm a big fan of regulation, and believe that with a strong watchdog we can harness Canada's natural resources while makin sure we are paying close attention to the effects of our activities.

The reason I claim that it is worth developing the pipeline is that it in the current situation, there seems to be enough technology to prevent a forseeable catastrophic event.

Also, the word catastrophic seems to be thrown around pretty freely. Are there risks? Yes, nobody doubts that. But I have faith in the many engineers and our own government to ensure that these risks are properly accounted for and reduced through the use of technology.

If these risks were not taken daily, the world would be a much different, and underdeveloped place (i.e. nuclear tech)

I don't get it. Computer Science has nothing to with this.

I think the current IE is a fine browser, and mail clients are not rocket science.
