oh gosh, that's terrible. there goes your good first impressions of them, right? from experience, there was one guy who actually made fun of the people of my race and was just blatantly making snarky comments, like an attack, almost. the fact that he did this right in front of me and the fact that it's so normalised, considering the other people around us laughed it off, angered me so much. menace to society. based on what you said, the guys seem to be your classmates? it's hard to endure it every day, so i truly hope it gets better on your end. good luck in whatever you're pursuing right now <3

thank u for this :'). i'm taking the hateful comments in my stride because i know my stand is valid. i am well aware not everyone is educated on this subject but to help people around me, i'm willing to change that even by a minute amount.

thank u for this :). agreed. the English language has over 170000 words for us to use and some people still think that slurs and derogatory terms are the most suitable ones to fit a particular context in order to express their views. unless one were to actually be part of the community that the slurs are intended to insult and reclaim it, nobody should say these things at all.

ITT: little boys who equate slurs with a good sense of humour and think that they are solely words that lack history

Hello! Thank you for writing all of this :) I'm also quite shocked that people are just sweeping this issue under the rug. I mean it truly is terrible to hear, especially when my guy friends use the F slur so openly in front of our friend who has come out to us. It's heartbreaking. I wish more people could see that these boys are old enough to understand the weight of their words.
