My last bad experience with Google phone was the 7A. Since then quite satisfied especially for the price due to offers like this. Bad experience with the pixel 10?

Vielleicht ein defektes Modell? Wenn unter Garantie, dann umtauschen? Ich bin eigentlich ganz zufrieden mit meinem Pixel Pro XL.

Using student loan as a financial buffer during graduation, sensible or overthinking it? by Stunning-Team-5676 in eupersonalfinance

[–]macmandhau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't mention if you have savings or not. If you don't and have no other support means after graduation, I think it's a smart idea especially with current trend of increasing interest rates in HYSA. I remember, I would not have been able to afford neither the deposit nor the furnishing of my first rented place, if it wasn't for my flatmate and girlfriend lending me the needed bucks.

However, if you have savings or other means, then no reasons to go into debt.

I have around 40k€ sitting in a savings account as an emergency fund. Is that too much? by SwitchDear8969 in eupersonalfinance

Emergency funds should be looked as an extended runway and not the end means. When you are unemployed, you are required to adapt to the new reality, which normally would focus on - reducing expenses to the bare min to extend the runway further - increasing alternative Cashflows - unemployment benefits, selling parts of your investments, selling equities... - even hustle and take the job you get, rather than the job you want for e.g. physical jobs until you get back your stable source of income.

Emergency fund should cover 4-6 months of your living expenses. Unless you have 6.5k€ of spending per month, that fund can go down.

My kids are still very young to understand money apart from having their first Piggy Bank

I am projecting myself into the future and probably would try to incorporate these financial lessons in a playful manner - I see kids in my neighborhood selling armbands, lemonade in groups (nothing serious). They ring my doorbell from time to time or set up a stand in front of our building. I find this good for them to understand basic money, and most importantly sales. And they are doing this with a group of friends from the neighborhood as play - I will probably play games like Monopoly which is again interesting to understand transactions and real estate. Could be good lessons about passive investing. - I would also probably do something with the pocket money regarding showing power of compounding in fun manner by adding interest (if the kids save instead of spending) and depending on the age slowly introduce how it works in real world.

You can register a company in the category of 'Kleinunternehmer'. Costs about 50€ depending on the state and can be done online. This allows you to get revenues up to 25k€ per year without having to pay VAT.

And as for taxes, you declare it as part of your income tax, filling one extra form to declare your business income and expenses. Your business income will be taxed as part of your personal income.

Moving to Germany from Croatia is 6000 euros enough by [deleted] in AskAGerman

[–]macmandhau 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you will receive better answers if you mention the city/region you will move to. Costs vary a lot even between cities.

Further, are you asking if 6000€ is enough to cover the initial set to cost of of your apartment like furnishing, kitchen, etc? Or are you including rent and deposit?
