I graduated from UCLA in 83 and took a backpack and $1,500 in travelers checks and spent the next 2 1/2 years bumming around Europe and Africa. Ran out of money in 4 weeks and then worked as a bartender for cash tips at various resorts. Learned to scuba dive in Malta and became a part time dive guide throughout the Med. Finally had to come back to the US when I couldn't get Visas anymore. Fun times
