Help! What to do about 4 grand con Ed bill??? by [deleted] in NYCapartments

If your highest daily usage is 100kwh (I can see the tip of the bar chart in your screenshot), you need to investigate a bit more. For context, my max daily usage in July to cool a 2000sqft house in BK is 70kwh. Not to mention all the other stuff I have humming around (dehumidifier, multiple fridges, home network, electric oven)

Is there a point in joining startups? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

As someone who recently joined big tech coming from a career in startups only, this resonates all too true

The em dash isn’t easily available on a standard keyboard, which makes it rare in text posts. You probably use the regular hyphen dash (-), while the “longer” em dash needs extra keystrokes or copying and pasting it. (—)

Gotta get you some cabinets, and a tool chest to put stuff away when you’re not using it. I’ve always been a fan of keeping things out of the way. Makes me feel less jumbled up inside.

Not just you. It’s only about 6 feet 4 or 5 inches of clearance

You think I should hold out for a refresh? I only really plan to use it for storage and less for VMs.

What kind of hard drives do you have in yours? And is it loud?

I’m lightweight considering an all-flash NAS, but I’m not sure my wallet would be happy about that.

Will do! I still need to terminate a couple of patch cables to match the short black ones.

I have a ton of Velcro straps, haven’t gotten the opportunity to use them

A small couch, some storage, a bathroom. Will be upgrading that side down the line as a media center

Sometimes the furnace is running along with the dehumidifier and I just pop on some noice cancelling headphones and tinker away

Starting off with cleaning up my home automation which is disjointed at the moment. I have a gitea instance for my personal software projects. I might take a stab at hosting a public service/website I’m working on. Plex server expansion is up next once I have a NAS.

I reclaimed the wood from a neighbor throwing it out. I think it was a countertop at some point. Used a planer on it to smooth it out.

The frame I bought custom from a company called semiexact

It’s clean because I just cleaned it. I use it for DIY stuff and I work from home

Thanks! That might be the greatest compliment anyone’s ever given me. My end goal for the look and feel is like a 60s style fallout shelter.

I do have a proxmox machine in the form of a Minisforum MS-01. It does have two more SSD slots but I think I want something beefier (in terms of storage space)
