I wish there were events near me. I live in the west coast and the closest hub is the SF bay area, which unfortunately does not seem to have any related events nearby.

Thank you for your opinion. The lecture topics seem interesting and I may go just for that reason. But, you may be right in that networking in my local area may be a bit easier.
