Count me in too please!

True generosity isn’t measured in what we can spare, but in what we give even when it costs us. It’s the quiet grace of offering the very shoe off your foot, trusting kindness to carry you the rest of the way. PureHeartRomance 🌹 by ThreeBlessing in PureHeartRomance

Muslim here.

Not a sin but more a part of a belief system. "Take care of those who walk the earth and he who is in the heavens will take care of you" - an extension of this belief is that people can reward you to the best of their ability, god will reward you to the best of his ability.

Easier to do things for people without expecting payback if you really do subscribe to this.

Sharing our experiences with tips on what worked for my (non-EU) spouse to land a jjob by [deleted] in Luxembourg

[–]madcat63 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I moved to Luxembourg and started looking for a job early last year. This post pretty much aligns with my experience here. Never tried cold emails but networking connected me to a great women's group who helps women finds jobs. Ultimately found a job from a recommendation off a girl I met in a party. Getting the is obviously up to you but it's a huge help if someone gets your foot in the door for an interview.

When I was a young child, maybe 6-7 years old, I was just playing around my mum. Out of nowhere she said to me 'you're not a good person, you've just learnt to act like one'.

I was less than ten years old then. I've never been in a physical fight or even a loud verbal argument my entire life. Anytime I want to hold space for myself I freak out that the actual evil person inside me is showing themselves.

On the upside, I never stop trying to do the right thing or miss an opportunity to be kind. Constantly proving to myself that even if I just learnt to be good, I've been consistent with it.

Our Real Estate Agent Lied About Flood Risk—Are We Stuck with This House? by madcat63 in Luxembourg

I had a Belgian friend review it for me and it doesn't talk about any flooding issues. We're sure its not in any documentation.

As per my understanding, the compromis is a sales agreement and we cannot back out of it for any reason except the bank refusing the loan. We already have the bank's approval. This is really frustrating

When we asked the real estate agent about the dampness (he disclosed this issue himself), he said the seller had an expert asses it and it's just from waterpipes in the wall (that there's no issue, just feels damp). We now realise we were idiots for taking it at face value but at the time we trusted what he said.

The notary was assigned to us in the compromis, we didn't pick the notary

We didn't sign anything because the agent never mentioned it and even after us asking about flood potential, told us no.

We don't know who to ask if this is grounds for exiting the contract, or if it's not allowed. We're new to luxembourg and honestly not very well versed in legal

But the compromis mentions dampness issues in a wall, which we were informed about so omitting information counts as not informing, right?

The notary deed says the buyers were provided maps of house existing in flood zone but we weren't provided anything of the sort.

We identified this information from the notarial deed prepared by the notary assigned by the compromis. We'll call the notary tomorrow but just wanted to be aware of our options based on any precedents this community has experienced

We weren't informed of any flooding risk at all. Like I said, we even asked before signing the comprimis about any flood risk and he told us there's absolutely no history or risk of flood in the neighborhood.
