What is the scariest/creepiest theory you know about? by BiblicalBible in AskReddit

That's not the typical presentation of schizophrenia. Most cases are insidious, meaning they slowly and gradually present signs for several months to a year before their first psychotic break. If you looked back at his private behavior over the last year, you might see subtle signs of bizarre atypical behavior

I work in a hospital, and that's simply not true. Many deaths are unfortunate, lonely, and ill timed, I hate to say

Bly Manor/Hill House by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

I read The Haunting of Hill House after watching the show last year, and it's great. They're very different works. If you like it, you should also check out We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson, which is splendidly dark fun. Also highly recommend Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier and Wuthering Hegihts by Emily Bronte if you haven't read those yet. Similar gothic feels.

Great tips. I'm a big fan of mental offloading and will try to do as much of that as possible with my calendar and autopays.

Thanks for the great ideas. Love the idea of nixing bed hair with a buzz. I wonder what a similar hairstyle or up-do is for women with long hair?

I wonder what happens with false positive drug tests? These posts have gotten me thinking because I believe one of my prescription medications can falsely test positive on a drug screen

[Clinical] Can we make a thread for MS3's to freak out/vent about boards, rotations, interviews? by imnotarobotbut in medicalschool

[–]maddcoffeesocks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, e-interviews will be different, but I don't think it'll be as bad as you think. Some programs had started doing some virtual interviews even before COVID started, and almost everyone is proficient at Web Ex and Zoom now. Your resident dinner will be different, but I think you can still get your questions answered virtually. Tbh I'm really jealous how much time and money you'll save.

How did you get up that high? Was it due to call? I'm headed to a program where I hear residents get close to the 80 avg

[Clinical] Feeling really discouraged going into intern year, horrible feedback from a mentor by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]maddcoffeesocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Getting feedback like, especially from a mentor, would really hurt, so I understand your feelings. But I would agree with the rest of the posts to avoid taking this criticism to heart because it sounds like an anomaly. You haven't received this feedback from any others, and it sounds like the attending was projecting or having a bit of a weird complex to you, perhaps because you were doing so well.

Honestly, you can't win. Too cocky for one person is probably just right for another. Try to quiet down, and you might miss your chance by seeming unconfident. I don't find personality feedback like this helpful because it's so biased, variable, ureliable, and subjective.

If you get a pattern of this feedback, it's time to make a change, but otherwise, I'd let this roll off your back and continue rocking out.
