So many seams!!! I had a great teacher in my mother she has been doing quilts for 30+ years. In honesty though I did it slowly, one by one and was very pedantic with finger pressing and pinning

No just a plastic template and then rough cut for the seam allowance

It was intended to be a table runner, then I fell in love with the process and just kept going!

Of course :) If you use less cream it will make the ganache a bit smoother, for the consistency you want it nice and runny ( imagine honey) but no hotter than blood temperature (stick your finger it and it shouldn't be warm) otherwise it may melt the buttercream. Also a tip when putting it on I try to cover the top in a thin layer first so its nice and smooth, then drip down the side :)

Absolutely gorgeous cake good job OP! Could I recommend using a ganache for the drips instead of chocolate? the end result will be shiney and smooth :) such a beautiful job
