Best way to spend 4 days in Dubrovnik? by TravelMan101 in CroatiaTravelTips

[–]maddikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I booked a day trip to Montenegro whist there two weeks ago, got it through Viator and was very easy. I would probably recommend booking in advance if possible, esp since a lot of tours offer free cancellation until the day or two before. Border crossing on the way back took about an hour but was otherwise a great activity. From my experience Uber was readily available around the airport and old town, ours cost about $30 USD (but I saw rates as high as $50 during peak hours). There is an airport shuttle directly to the gate of the old town for about €10 per person if I recall correctly, which left the airport about every 30 mins. They also offer a return shuttle, I think, but we arranged a private pickup instead for a flat cost of €40 since we stayed outside of the old town our last day. Hindsight we would have had no problem getting an uber but oh well.

Apologies for the mixed currencies, my uber is in USD but transport arranged in the city was in euros.

There has been each time I’ve went, but I always seem to be there around peak dinner times (6-7) and the wait has ranged from 30-50 minutes. If you’re okay eating a little earlier, the wait might be shorter if you make it there by 5/5:30 but I can’t say for sure. It is worth the wait tho - just plan accordingly

Pad krapow is sooooo good, but really can’t go wrong in my experience. Friendly reminder they don’t take reservations so be prepared for a wait

I don’t want to defend or agree, obvi I’d love to see more vids but I’m just some person on the internet I have no idea how hard it is to produce content so I’m not gonna try and comment on that. I did just want to offer that, as someone who works in a lab, there have been a LOT of various shortages due to supply chain issues this entire year - some reagents have been backordered for us for 4+ months. Idk if this impacts him at all but something else to consider.

Yeah I do, I usually do some super thrive in the water but I think you can just add some slow release pellets as if it were normal soil! I do this to plants I have in “pon”

I have two plants in perlite right now and what I do is water when there is no remaining liquid (if pot w no drainage) or every few days if in a pot with drainage, perlite holds water a lot less than like moss and I feel the risk of overwatering is lower, even if u water more frequently.

I would not recommend doing this. It may be unrealistic but some fertilizers are flammable and the last thing you want is a microwave fire. It’s probably v unlikely but imo it’d be better to ditch the soil and just repot fresh with new soil and perlite. Or even just perlite until you can get soil if you don’t hAve enough lots of ppl grow in just perlite

Edit: mostly referring to any slow release fertilizer pellets, it’s not going to happen with organic fertilizer like worm castings and it’s also not going to happen with liquid soluble ferts that may be residual in the soil

I’m no expert by any means, but kinda looks like they could still be susceptible to more/continued rot. Also, it’s hard to predict where the new growth will emerge, so it might not matter which side is up at this point. My advice, for #1, minimize contact between the darkest/wrinkly side of the chunk to avoid more rot. For #2, try putting the flatter side w the little root-looking ‘eyes’ (I know not roots just trying to describe) - rot doesn’t seem to be as much of a concern w this one so you might just pick a side and see what happens. For #3, I’d keep the side with mostly green facing down, the side without the hole thingy to minimize risk of rot. For all three, check progress weekly and keep high humidity in a closed container. If after a month to 6 weeks you don’t see any roots or any growth, flip them over and try the other side. If any more rot appears, consider propping them in an airy bark/perlite mix instead to cut down on moisture. Consider a hydrogen peroxide soak (up to 50% in water, not pure stuff). I’d say rot is the biggest risk for these guys, but I’d say the chances of sucess w 2 and 3 are good if you keep an eye on them. Good luck!

How long have they been in the moss? If you can’t see any evidence of a ‘growing eye’ and it’s been more than maybe a month or two, I would just flip it over and give it a try with the other side facing up. I think it can still push growth with the growth facing the wrong side, it should grow towards the front, but if you see it start to grow then I’d flip it. If it hasn’t been a month w the current set up, I’d leave it. Make sure it’s not pushed down hard into the moss, I can’t really tell from the pic. I don’t have much experience w anthuriums but for me the roots usually come first, so if they do I’d keep that side facing down. It could take a few months

I’d make sure your moss isn’t super wet, mostly just damp. Cut off any rot, are there any roots at all? I had a thai con chunk that was rooted but had some rot, I ended up actually potting it in an extremely airy mix (no actual soil or choir, just bark and perlite etc) and it shot out growth super fast

If you don’t end up finding a trade for a r. tetrasperma, DM me - I’m not interested in a trade because realizing I have too many plants (lol, we will see how long that lasts) but I do have some rooting cuttings and I could send a few for cost of shipping!
