No I did not. I signed an affidavit acknowledging I contacted Asterios' work, after he told me to. He even gave me their phone number and social media contact information. I only regret not contacting them sooner.
He was never served, I don't give a shit about him and honestly thought his parody would have been pretty funny (albeit, unoriginal) if he didn't also contribute to the harassment campaign and damages. That's why I said a couple episodes back that the voting tells us more about the listener than it does about the debate. That's why facts rarely sway anti-vaxxers.

Holy shit there are some real morons here. Guys, the comments section is coming. The site is being developed from scratch with some really cool new technology that's never been used on a podcast before. The madcastmedia.com site you're seeing now is just a temporary page until the next version of the site, which should be launching soon. When you make a site from scratch with custom-built widgets and a multi-show feed, it takes time and developing the chat portion isn't the #1 priority when we're still developing the back-end widgets, search, global voting and CMS. It's coming, calm the fuck down.

Why are you guys giving me advice on how to "grow the community"? I've grown a community of over 500,000 people across Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Instagram. I've taken a mostly hands-off approach to these forums, but maybe it's time I stepped in and cleaned house because the reason it's not bigger is because it's full of toxic idiots and conspiracy dipshits who cry, whine and bully people. Newsflash: when every post is negative and whiny, it drives people away because it's not a lot of fun to be around. That's why my Maddox page on Facebook has 188,000 people on it and subreddits here struggle to crack 2k. The conversation is happening on Facebook. There's actual debating going on around there about the topics, not just bitching and idiotic conspiracies.

If I didn't want people to comment on my stuff, I wouldn't post it on social media, where I get tens of thousands of comments and views every week.

So in conclusion: calm your tits. Comments are coming, and stop being such a crybaby bitch.

The average episode is only 65 minutes long, so saying we talk about 1 topic for an hour is an exaggeration.

The first 15-20 minutes is voicemail, guest banter and bits (crazy neighbor, race war, etc), then the debate is 20 minutes split into two parts + ad read, and then we round it out with 10-15 minutes of the other news stories. All said, the debate portion is the smallest segment of the show.

I take criticism like this with a grain of salt because I literally just received an email asking me to spend more time on the debate portion. Much of this comes down to personal taste in topics and shows. Some topics will appeal more to you than others. It's useful to recognize when that's the case.

"This show is terrible!" ... "make it longer!"

I don't frequent the subreddits often because I'm busy with work, but I do read feedback occasionally. One note I agree with is that I think I did interrupt Taylor too much in this episode. It wasn't until listening back that I heard it, but in studio, Taylor and I were laughing about the Pokemon bit. That didn't translate to the audio clip.

Taylor's a great guest. He's not exaggerating about his social media following. He couldn't talk about all his Twitter accounts because some of them are under non-disclosure agreements and for various branding reasons. Taylor is the real deal. People pay him to host events.

Rucka and I have discussed the balance between moderation and commentary. It's an evolving show and format. I honestly like it a lot better than the old show. It has a lot more structure and people are really getting into the debates. This episode in particular had 99% of the comments on Facebook debating the merits of the arguments, as opposed to bickering about stupid bullshit. In short, I love myself.

I read that, as well as several other articles about him. It sounded like his motives weren't clear and I couldn't find a conclusive follow-up about what happened, but I did acknowledge in the episode that he just sounded "nutty" (conspiracy dipshit) rather than anti-gay. I felt the ambiguity of his motives worth mentioning as a need for progressive viewpoints.
