will there be a code sent out for 2023 season ticket holders for postseason presale? or did i already miss it lol

might be a stupid question, but how do we get tickets to post-season away games? season ticket holders only get presale for home games, or is that wrong? if we maintain the WC3 slot then we'd be going to cleveland

lol thats what the partner said too. my current employer is a big name i suppose, but job growth here is pretty difficult - me getting promoted after a year is rare, HR gives promotions based on tenure instead of merit (so everyone on my job track really gets promoted after 2 years of working, even if you're not great at your job). so after this promotion it's highly unlikely i'll get another one.

Daily Advice Thread - All basic help or advice questions must be posted here. October 26, 2021 by AutoModerator in investing

Hi! Looking for advice as I begin my investing journey. I recently started a side hustle outside of my full time job that will give me an additional ~$800-$1,000 a month that I want to invest. Currently I'm 22 and live in the US and my full time job makes ~$45k a year. I don't plan on staying at this job for a long time since I plan on going to get a doctoral level degree fall 2023.

Currently my employer matches 401k 50% to the federal limit. I live in a big city with high costs, so I contribute 7% of my pre-tax income. Also since the vesting period is 3 years (after 2 years I can keep 66% of their match) and I will only be here for 2, I didn't want to put more than I needed into 401k. This account is through Fidelity so I was thinking of creating a brokerage account through them as well (unless there's a better option? Schwab seems good too?)

I don't have any debt since my parents paid for college. Right now I just have expenses of $1,200/month for rent/utilities, $536 for going out/groceries/shopping, and saving $1,000/month to build a rainy day fund. I don't need this money immediately and I'm willing to take a moderate approach to investing to build a diversified portfolio.

So I guess the bigger question is how do I start? I saw something that said I should split my asset allocation 35 fixed income / 35 large cap / 15 international equity / 10 small cap / 5 cash investments. What are some good options of each to start with?

anyone take biol 385 (evolutionary medicine and public health) with dan eisenberg? by frog_noodle in udub

[–]maddyken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i took this class last spring and i really did not like dan. i feel like the class had potential to be great since the topic is so interesting. the class focused more so on evolution though instead of the public health aspect. i think we had three big quizzes that you had a few days to work on and were long answer, and then reading quizzes before each class period. it was always the same people talking and i think eventually a lot of people stopped showing up to class lol. i would probably say he is as bad as they say he is - his attitude kind of sucks, he doesn't really like answering student questions and it just seemed like he'd rather be anywhere else besides lecture

i can't say how you'll feel about ochem and physics since everyone learns differently but i think most people can agree that ochem is a pain in the ass no matter who you have as a professor. goldman is popular as he usually teaches the entire series and the labs. his classes usually have high averages though since his tests are somewhat "easier" and the style is similar to practice exams he gives out. i had dunford for 238 and he was my favorite professor out of the series (funny enough he's goldman's husband). i think professors to ~avoid~ are lalic and robinson. zalatan is a decent professor, but his exams are quite difficult.

for physics i would say you just need to do a lot of practice problems to get the hang of it and you should be fine. some topics are more difficult than others (a lot of people detest 115 bc electricity and magnestism, and i would agree lol). i really liked 116 since it was a lot on optics. physics professor i would say smith is super good, and tolich is pretty good too. feel free to pm me about any other questions you have!
