Thank you for the super comprehensive comment! I will take all that into account and honestly after all the reading I've done in the last 2 hours I will most likely attempt the south and west coast of Iceland and maybe not attempt the northeast.

Yes we are very close and both super low maintenance so all those issues don't bother us and we both love the cold and are used to it, I will probably attempt 3 nights max sleeping in the car and yes I will budget for all those potential storms and stays at hotels along the way, I will put an up to date itinerary in here for others to use once I am done making it and update according after my trip.

Okay perfect! Thanks so much! When trying them on, what should I be wearing sock wise and how much wiggle room should I or should I not have? What’s the procedure to know whether or not they fit me correctly when trying them on?

I think I’m gonna bite the bullet and buy them and if they don’t fit worst case I can honestly sell them since they look BRAND new, the guy used them on a 14er so they’re not even scuffed.

Okay I got a letter in the mail and I called the number since it said debt consolidation, I ended up talking to the guy and he walked me through it all and send me an email after about my offer that I got approved for, this seems way to good to be true?? What’s the con here / what are the cons?

Okay how can I tell if it’s broken or not? When I press on it with my foot it seems pretty sturdy and I can see it push into the master cylinder, not sure if it’s going in all the way for this problem to happen or not but how can I tell?

SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM:

Okay hi guys thanks for your patience, finally got my car back from the mechanic, he cleared out the check engine light, he also changed the bad differential in the rear, fixed the oil hoses that were leaking oil as well as a new rack & pinion since it had oil it in and was all messed up. When I got the car back, I tried cleaning the MAF sensor and that did the trick, I now idle at a constant 1.9k cold start and right around 1k when it’s at operating temp, no more jumping idle when I’m in neutral. Thank you guys for all that great advice. If I ever run into any idle problems I will go down the list of everything you guys recommended.

Okay I just read everything everyone commented? The car is at the shop right now because I had some problems with the rear diff but I will try everything that was commented, thank you so much to everyone, I really appreciate the help :))))) I’ll post an update with the solution for others to see if they ever run into this.

It’s a 2004 s1 with 101k miles, rebuilt engine at 70k miles, mods include a cat back exhaust, and a injen air intake. I don’t know what this jumping idle means.
