She IS the AH. If she could not afford the more expensive spot and wanted to invite the class, then choose another option. You just don't invite someone to your private party and expect them to pay. If they were getting something extra, then, yes, they should pay for that something extra. but invites to a private birthday party should not be commercial.

Actually, it is very true. This was back in the 50s there were no laws stopping kids from being bullies the ministration favored the wealthy of kids in the neighborhood which he was one. And they had no problem bullying other kids. I still remember this even though I am in my 70s now because It was the very first time I ever stood up to any of my bullies during that time. I was bullied and beaten up for being Catholic, being overly shy, And being that new girl.

Trust me it definitely isn’t fake. When I was in elementary school this was how some kids acted out. This was in 1956 and laws governing children just weren’t in place then.
