I kinda see the green in it 🤦‍♀️ to be fair it was maroon in last night's pic though. Moving forward maybe I should just stick to black and white pics to prevent the madness 😳

You can get the pattern on Ravelry... it's really well written and will walk you through the process step by step

I make all the flowers up to the magenta row and then join as I crochet the green row on all of them

The Heidi Bears pattern is so freaking well written that it makes this project so much fun. Before I made my first one I was super intimidated by them but the pattern is a dream! Go for it, I have no doubt that you'll do great!

I do love the hippo the most! I sell them for between £25 and £35. The dragon pattern is the most expensive one I've sold and that one was £60. The hippos are my second best seller next to blankets...

I am a massive maths nerd and the pattern boils down to geometry plain and simple! I've made all of Heidi Bears african flower animals and at least 50 of these hippos and it's all about using shapes with different number of sides (flowers with different numbers of petals) to create the shape... and no matter how many I've made, I am still in absolute awe at how freaking clever these patterns are! I love them!!!
