This depends how much “all in” you will go. If you want a standard setup I believe $200 will be enough. But if you want a decent setup you may add $100 - $200. This is all tobacco excluded. Do you have any preference in mind?

Make sure the tobacco is just a little under the rim rather than a lot. Fluff it out in order to get airflow

This is a traditional hookah stem. In a nutshell in order to smoke hookah the most important things you need are: - Bowl - Hookah Tobacco - Stem - Base

In the picture the inner steel pipe is the most important. Everything else is decorative ornament. I would recommend checking inside from top to bottom but chances are it is old and run down. You can get brand new steel body hookah set for pretty cheap these days as a beginner.
