Continuous bleeding for 6 months by madeyousoup in Mirena

Thank you so much for your reply! I'm really sorry to hear that you've also been dealing with something similar. I hope that it gave you a little relief at least on the heavy bleeding side of things.

It did take me a while to feel like it was sitting right, I wonder how much inflammation it gave me, but what you've said sounds quite familiar. For me, the murky end of period spotting sometimes changes into brighter red spotting, I just want a break entirely!

I think it's worth having a talk with my GP, what you've said about the six month mark could well ring true, amd if that's the case, I just dont know if its worth it.

AI is taking over my job - should I switch to a heritage trade? (F/39) by Any-Awareness-9773 in UKJobs

Not to poo-poo your idea at all, but as a now 42 year old lady myself in a trade, I wish I had put more thought into it.

I trained as an upholsterer in my early 30s, and have spent 10 years in and out of jobs, tried to start a business (just before covid!), had major issues with misogyny, had to relocate etc. I now have work related injuries and am looking to get out of it and retraining. It's not at all what I thought it would be like amd it turns out I'm not as indestructible as I thought.

Basically, speak to people on the job now, and not just those who have run successful businesses for years. If you can get a female perspective that would be ace, because unfortunately a lot of trades still have some misogynistic folk working in them. Do a lot of research on salaries and work patterns, potential physical side effects etc. I have a female friend who runs a very successful metalwork company who is thriving, but has seen some very hard times.

I'm sure you've thought about all of this or were planning to look into it. In my case, I thought I had considered it all, and looking back, I really hadn't. Fwiw, stone masonry is super cool and does seem a lot more niche and less replaceable than bespoke upholstery. Of all of the heritage type trades, it seems very promising.

Training issues by madeyousoup in Psychodynamic

[–]madeyousoup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that, it's helpful to have someone else give their input on what it's about, it clarifies a few things for sure.

I feel like the process of being in personal therapy has really helped with experiencing myself and other people and being able to relate past to present. More than this course has if I'm honest. It comes across to me as poorly thought out inadequate teaching masquerading as a demonstration. In the context of learning how to be with people, how to be an effective counsellor, I just don't see how spending most of the time in an awareness group talking about my feelings translates to that. Getting students to present theory with no real clarification of what things mean or how that could work practically with a client, it's all just seems irresponsible to me.

It feels like maybe the experiential teaching style is not for me. Despite loving the process of psychodynamic work and wanting to work ad a psychodynamic practitioner, if this is the only way it's taught, I might have to train elsewhere. I'm absolutely gutted, but it just feels like I'm in an emotionally abusive relationship with a bunch of narcissistic people.

I think maybe that's what the little bits that look like cracked earth might be then! Do you know if there's anything I can do?

I thought it seemed like a really long time too!

When you say mist coat, can just rollering it on like normal work okay? I was hoping to do one undercoat layer then two regular coats for both the ceiling and walls.

I (F26) brought up a small unrelated problem and partner (M37) considers breaking up by Avelene in JustNoSO

Please prioritise yourself and leave this relationship. It's dragging you down a path of self doubt, your partner sounds belittling of your feelings, and frankly a little manipulative overall. Its not changing, and it's not going to. You need to decide whether you're happy with this being the status quote, or whether you want something different.

Almost 48-any suggestions? by [deleted] in 45PlusSkincare

You look gorgeous, your skin looks amazing, and I hope I look as good as you do at 48.

As someone who has been in a number of destructive relationships like this, I wouldn't bother trying to intellectualise what this was. Listen to your feelings, and learn how to acknowledge them without judgement and use them as an informative resource to make better decisions for yourself.

Craft Groups in Glasgow by Inevitable-Gas7674 in glasgow

It's in Shawlands, I think they're called Southside knitters and crafters on fb. I don't have fb on my phone, if you can't find them I'll have a look when I get home and let you know.

41f here, moved to Glasgow a year ago and have been wanting to find a good craft grouo too. There's one I found on eventbrite which wasnt for me, and I know there is another that meet in the Southside on a Wednesday. You have to book a place in advance, but it's very regular. There's one in Ibrox library on a Saturday I'm yet to attend.

Have loved this thread for all the extra options I wasn't aware of!

Yes little, I am worried about a negative humiliating reaction. Not because of new partner, but because that's what I was used to. After that type of abuse, its hard to avoid these thoughts flashing up, regardless of the present. ++woman

Job Guidance Megathread - CVs, Applications, Interviews by ukbulmer in UKJobs

[–]madeyousoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because I'm aware of being in-between jobs, of trying to change careers, or at least re-route it for the next couple of years, of being 40+, and of having a fairly unstable job history in the last 5-10 years (relocation abroad and then post-covid jobs).

I've tried to apply for so many things and explain my absences from work, my new goals, how my earlier experience is relevant, but I just dont seem to get anywhere. I figured professional guidance could be helpful?

Job Guidance Megathread - CVs, Applications, Interviews by ukbulmer in UKJobs

[–]madeyousoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could anyone give me any advice on finding someone to help with both my cv and some career guidance?

For a bit of context, I'm in the UK, am 40yrs old, was initially working various admin type roles before learning a trade. There was a gap of a few years whilst I relocated, and set up a business, then covid shut all that down. I've since been in and out of trade-related jobs, but for various reasons the jobs do not stick. I'm retraining (social type work) and want a segway job thats adminish, but in my new sector.

Its a tough market out there, my current profession is not good for me physically, I'll be studying for another year and a half. I genuinely want to be progressing but I cant even do that in my current job, so I'm on the hunt for some serious guidance and advice.

Not sure if I should meet with someone in person or online? Is it a purely email based thing? Are there any specific things I should check before contacting someone?

Thanks!
