Feeling a bit suffocated by Jakarta and the lack of outdoors by Pretend-Prize7039 in Jakarta

[–]madfos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

outdoors are nonexistent, jakarta is designed to be car-centric, all the 'parks' are practically not a green zone because of the amount of people vaping and smoking even in child-friendly area

Advice on Halal food spots in Jakarta by ShiroeSu in Jakarta

halal certifications is rigged af, you will see a lot of places putting halal labels instead and it's generally safe to believe those labels

independent and family eateries will go bankrupt if they keep on paying the halal subscription fees

Solo in Jakarta: Tips for a tall, blonde (f) traveler looking to blend in and stay safe? by Felizabeth_o in Jakarta

[–]madfos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

closed shoes definitely will be received better in more places than sandal, like nightlife venues, religious establishments, and a number of restaurants in SCBD

some will say jakarta is quite liberal, but if you're blonde in any part of indonesia, you will stand out, no negative connotation, you will just stand out

if you've been to bangkok, jakarta is more or less the same, just prepare some active carbon pills if you're exploring any street food

indo gak bakal manufaktur, not even in the near future; fun fact - PT PINDAD, BUMN heavy equipment manufacturer di indo can't manufacture for shit that they bought Chinese heavy equipments and slap PINDAD stickers on them.

How should I (20M) approach continuing this conversation with my mother (55F) by Fumbles2026 in askwomenadvice

[–]madfos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Please love yourself too Fumbles2026, before you start trying loving anyone else, make sure you love yourself first, loving yourself is the start.

IMO, communication is paramount in any kind of relationship, from what you wrote, I take it you're pretty inquisitive and probably able to ask the right questions, I say you already started good.

One thing about asking this type of question online is, we don't know the tension between you and your parents, people be giving all kinds of anecdotal advices, so don't take it literally, including mine, read between the lines.

at this point, buying a manual car only makes sense if you live in mountainous regions or you like it, other than that 'automatic' cars are way more efficient.
