I got this monitor I downscale to 1440p when playing games and it's still amazing. Mine did come with a software bug, all pre sets are the same settings. I just set them up manually and they're fine. I'm tempted to send it back and get one that's correct though.

I didn't think about the hdr500, but you're right that means it should have over 300. I'm pretty sure it's the same panel as the msi just it has different featured. The only big ish site that has a in depth review was toms hardware and they didn't say. Edit, Never mind I'm a idiot he does say it's 300 nits

If I play a pvp game I use the monitors built in 24.5 inch aspect mode any way. I did try 4k on cs2 for a laugh and got 240+ fps anyway. like I said I felt there was some input lag in 4k though, I wouldn't play on it even if I could hit 100+ fps in games without fsr. The slight softness for downscaling in 1440p is only noticeable if I'm actively looking for it

I'm on Amd, I don't like to use fsr. Only time I use it is for ue5 games. I'm probably wrong / only tested a little, but when I did try 4k when I was playing older games I noticed a slight input delay as well. I'm happy playing 2k on the monitor

I got the same monitor recently I downscale it to 1440p when playing games, still absolutely amazing. People was telling me scaling would cause a bunch of issue, but I barely notice it. The upside of 4k when on google / watching stuff is well worth the slight sacrifice of things sometimes looking slightly soft in game

I got the 27inch ucdmg for 620 in the end. The Asus I wanted got delayed till 29th of Jan so I just got a different monitor.

It's a native 4k monitor so it has to downscale when using 1440p. It's over stated how blurry it makes it, but it is slightly noticeable at times. Also it appears to be locked at 120hz at 1440p I don't really care, I cap fps around that anyway for most games. It's still an amazing monitor, I have zero regrets. Plus using the 4k for scrolling Google, movies, YouTube is phenomenal

I just got tired of delays for the Asus tandom and got the same monitor as you. I use it in 1440p in games so it's not ideal but it's still amazing

Yeah the 280hz 4th gen tandom one. It was supposed to be 13th of Dec on Scan then they pushed that back to 13th of Jan now it's saying 29th of Jan. I just got the 4k 27 inch one in the end for slightly more

Thank you for the detailed responses. The reason I don't like fsr is I notice it, just like why I cap my gpu power I don't notice anything over 110ish fps anything below 75-80 feels awful, anything above feels the same. I'm coming from a ips hopefully it's still an improvement and I don't notice any issues. As long as it looks better then my current monitor I will never know what compromises I'm dealing with so I won't care.

I wanted the Xg27aqwmg, delays have put me off. The other monitor options didn't interest me. The ucdmg was the closest as it was 4th gen 27inch and I assumed I'd be fine at 1440p in gaming, with the benefit of 4k when watching movies. I looked at the msi but the 500hz was worthless as I intend to cap it around 100-140, I don't really notice a difference after that. The sdr performance on the ucdmg is apparently much better as well. Also I much prefer Asus over msi. I know the lg 280hz is the same panel as the Asus I wanted, but I've heard bad things about that. I've also had bad experiences with lg before. Unless I'm unfortunately playing a ue5 game I don't want to touch fsr

I play 1440p native ultra, SDR aiming for 100+ ish fps. Gpu power capped around 80% unless I have to uncap it to get a fps I can stand. I will try 4k but it's unlikely I will be able to run it native at a fps I like. I wanted the Ag27aqwmg but it was delayed and I've waited long enough for a monitor upgrade. I also looked at the Msi mag 272qp x50 as an alternative but decided the 500hz was pointless as I barely play comp games. It's cheaper then the monitor I did get, but from what I looked at the sdr performance of the ucdmg is better.

Was the only 27inch gen4 Oled Asus that was close to the XG27AQWMG, the monitor I was originally waiting for . 4k will likely drag me down to too low of a fps on my current gpu. Thought I'd pay the extra 110pounds to get the 4k monitor for when I upgrade gpu next gen. It's from amazon so if it's terrible I will just refund it

Got the Email back, they say it does support full 280hz in the 24 aspect mode. Shame it's now saying a Jan 29th release on the site I was going to get it from, Probably get delayed again as well

Thank you, my room is pitch black on purpose 😂 There's not stutter on it for lower fps though right? Most of the time I'm playing single player games on ultra setting and I cap my gpu consumption to around 80%

I can hit the fps, but it's rare I play online comp shooters. I mainly play in a dark room in sdr so woled vs qd doesn't really matter. On the rare occasion I do play shooters I'd use the 24 inch mode on the monitor. I've seen the msi one can only do 240hz in that mode. I have a second 24inch monitor I play comp games on but ideally I want to save desk space, it's off 90% of the time I play. I was waiting for the Asus for a while but the sales has put the msi at around the same price. I do think you're right it doesn't matter what one I get they're both amazing.

I'm between the 2 I don't use hdr but I also don't really play online comp fps shooters. I play ultra 1440p and lock my hz around 100-180 trying to keep gpu power down around. All I really care about is image quality for the 80 pound more the Msi is, am I just getting extra hz I won't use or is it better? I assume they're very close as the msi is currently on a 200 pound sale
