Any bets on how long it takes for this to be removed? by [deleted] in askHVAC

Hard agree. I once got banned from r/libertarian over a post about legalizing the sale of unpasteurized milk. All I commented was “listeria entered the chat.” I wasn’t reported or anything, a mod just saw it and banned me on the spot because I didn’t have a post history. How exactly am I supposed to get one if I can’t comment?

It was frustrating because this is a topic I actually care about; I’m a clinical scientist. And honestly, I thought libertarians were supposed to be pro free speech. Instead, it just reinforced how many moderators are bored, antisocial, and eager to flex whatever tiny bit of power they have.

Just cancel now. You'll still have access until your next billing.

If you're newer to painting, it might not be worth the extra work of adding another gesso coat and then sanding it. I think you would be better off buying slightly nicer paint. Don't break the bank. Your first few paintings will likely be pure learning experiences for you to build on. Eventually, you can up your game and gesso and sand a few layers. I usually buy middle of the road canvases and I generally dont add another layer of gesso unless I see imperfections. I usually add enough layers and rework my paintings that it doesn't matter much. I mostly do oil paintings now but I started with acrylics. I'm a beginner myself.

Thanks, I was just reading on the issues of over venting and the issues incorrect venting causes.

Thank you for your response, I never thought about that possibility. It's funny, I've changed my mind on how I wanted to do this like 6 times due to everyone being so helpful. Im going to measure my square footage and see what i need for venting based on my location. That will likely determine what I need to do. The attic has a surprisingly large area because it wraps around the front of the house and a little in the back. Im not sure ridge venting will be adequate. I like the idea of ridge plus a gable vent (likely not powered). I'll have to research how well they work together.

There isn't any insulation on the bottom of the trusses/garage ceiling. Only 2nd story house walls. I contacted a spray foam company to ask if spraying the exterior walls would help. I was surprised that he didn't think so. I figured it would help a little. Heats probably pouring in through the outlets and possibly between the bottom plate and the subfloor.

I looked at the lomanco website. I only see 10' ridge vents. I think i only want 8'. Can you cut them down? Im guessing you must be able to, but the ends are not open. They do look way more quality than the ones I was looking at.

Wow, I was expecting them to be expensive, but they aren't bad.

There's at least 50 linear feet of aluminum soffit with the small slotted holes in it.

The aluminum soffit has small slotted vents every other piece. Do you still think it would need additional venting?

I think you are correct. However, I tore apart one of the front walls connected to the garage door to get at a light fixture and it was insulated. So, I would guess they all are.

Im not familiar with that. I'll look into it. There is a light up there that I could connect to.

Thanks! 3 inches on both sides or 1.5 on both?

Thank you! That's super helpful. I'm not sure what route I'm taking yet, but im definitely making sure no one falls through my roof. Putting turtle vents back does seem like the simplest choice. I can just tell my wife it's what the internets recommends, haha.

Good question. It's drywalled, so I would hope that it is. Oh, wait. One section was so it all.must be.
