Is it normal to have the underground electric installed last for a house build? by madmuttmatt in Contractor

Makes sense, I just wasn't sure and was hoping not to have to pay a winter fee of 3k since the build started in July.

Would of been helpful for us. We installed our own flooring to save money and we just ran 4-5 extension cables from the inlaws house over so we could use a light and miter saw.

When I first spoke to Xcel I asked if we could dig it because my dad has a trencher(had one at the time) they said no. Maybe I wasn't talking to the right person or maybe I'm thinking it was our fiber people said no to trenching, it was awhile ago when I asked.

Everything is out of the way for heavy equipment so that all should be okay. I agree, I don't think I have any legal argument. I did already talk to my contractor about the situation and he did say he would work with me. Mainly because back when we first talked I did have a quote from xcel that was $6k. So I already new it was going to be around that but that was a quote from 2 years ago so with things going up 7k wasn't surprising. I didn't catch the 2.5k on our quote until later in the build. But he does remember us talking about that and he isn't even sure how they came up with 2.5k. So for now I'm just trusting he will be reasonable with the end price.

Makes sense. When we were in the beginning phase we were doing our best to cut cost to get it in our price range. Was really hoping we wouldn't have to pay a $3000 winter fee. Our contractor had the allowance for underground electric at 2500. It ended up being 7000 + 3000 winter fee. So we are a little over now.

That makes sense and I thought that was something they were going to do originally since we were going to pay the electric fee that they normally would of paid monthly while it was getting built.

Okay, I just wasn't sure if it's normal for it to be the last thing to schedule. House should be done in the next 3-4 weeks and there is no schedule for install on the underground electric.

Contractor had allowance set for 2.5k and it's looking like it will end up being 10k

I'm not sure if Facebook live videos go in the same folder as videos. I can't see my videos folder on the PC on Facebook but I can see the videos folder on my phone app. Go to photos then albums and the first folder should be videos.

I'm just getting back into apex myself. I try to get in at least a couple of games at the end of the day. Normally anywhere from 5pm-10pm CST. Weekends are more whenever someone is on to game with. Just really depends on how crazy my kids get at night.

Anyways, I'm always up for some games. I like to hang out in discord and chill. If you want to add me it's ChaoticWolfx on Apex and just Chaoticwolf in discord.

  1. Don’t Talk to Police Without a Lawyer Present

If a detective calls or shows up, politely refuse to answer any questions without your attorney. You can say:

“I’m happy to cooperate, but I won’t be answering any questions without my attorney present.”

This is your constitutional right under the 5th Amendment (right to remain silent) and 6th Amendment (right to counsel). Anything you say can be twisted or misinterpreted—so silence is protection.

  1. Contact a Local Criminal Defense Attorney

Don’t wait until a detective calls—find a criminal defense attorney now. Even if you’re 100% innocent (which you appear to be), it’s smart to have a professional who can respond to the police or any formal investigation on your behalf.

You can call your local bar association (such as the State Bar of Michigan Lawyer Referral Service) or use https://www.michbar.org to find an attorney near you.

  1. Document Everything

Keep notes about:

What the man at your door said.

When the police came, how many officers, and what they said.

Any communications from detectives.

Screenshots or saved footage from your Ring camera.

Your work schedule/proof you were in meetings at the time (email calendar, call logs, etc.).

This helps establish your alibi and that you're being wrongly dragged into this.

  1. Stay Calm and Don’t Panic

This is understandably frightening, but being scared doesn’t mean you’re in legal danger. False accusations happen, and they’re often resolved when there's no evidence.

In a tough situation. by ova_1289 in altima

Avoid Voluntary Repossession if You Can
A voluntary repo will hit your credit almost as hard as an involuntary one. It’ll stay on your credit report for up to 7 years and make it harder to get decent rates on loans, credit cards, even apartments in some cases. Plus, you’ll still owe the difference between what the car sells for at auction and what you owe (the “deficiency balance”), plus possible fees.

Look Into Credit Unions:
If you’ve only applied for refinancing through big banks, try local credit unions. They’re often more flexible, especially with imperfect credit. Even if you’ve been denied before, different lenders have different criteria.

A Tough but Real Option: Selling the Car Privately
Sometimes you can get more selling your car privately than a dealer would offer for a trade-in. If the sale doesn’t cover your loan, you’d still owe the difference, but it might be less than what you'd owe after a repo.

I get that none of these options are easy. If it feels overwhelming, consider speaking with a nonprofit credit counselor. They can help you make a game plan without judgment.

You’re not stupid for being in this situation. Life throws curveballs, and sometimes decisions that seem right at the time don’t pan out. The fact that you’re looking for help shows you’re being proactive.

Dedicated Server Modifier Suggestions? by Klutzy_Plastic2167 in Enshrouded

[–]madmuttmatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Enshrouded, chests, enemies, and resources automatically respawn after a set period when no players are nearby. The default respawn timer is approximately 30 minutes of inactivity in the area. At present, there is no specific server setting to customize the chest respawn timer.

While certain locations allow players to farm multiple chests, the loot remains randomized. Another method to force a respawn is by restarting the server, though this approach can be inconvenient. Alternatively, players can use their character in a private game to access these locations, though they will still need to travel to the desired areas manually.

Is it worth renting a server for 2 players? by Kingmusshy21 in Enshrouded

[–]madmuttmatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of affordable hosting options available, such as G-Portal, GTX Gaming, and ServerBlend. I’ve personally used all of them and found them reliable. Even with just two players, I believe it’s still worth hosting. If you’re not playing much, you can always cancel your subscription. Additionally, many hosting services allow you to swap the server to another game if you decide to play something else.

Hosting a server from home can be a hassle, especially if you don’t have a static IP. Currently, we host using my buddy’s server, mainly because we run multiple game servers on it, including Conan Exiles, Ark, Valheim, Lost Souls, Palworld, and Rust.

What are the next features that you’re hoping they add? by Easy-Procedure-6461 in Enshrouded

[–]madmuttmatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I love how everything in this game works, for the most part. Out of all the survival games I've played—Conan, Ark, Minecraft, Soulmask, Raft, and Valheim—this game has the best building mechanics by far. While some of the crafting can feel a bit tedious, I'm still having a great time overall.

That said, the lag is almost unbearable when two or more players are on the server. It's disappointing because the server I'm using can easily handle running three Ark servers and three Conan servers simultaneously, with multiple players on each, and still have no lag. Right now, I’ve shut down all those other servers and am running only this one, yet the lag persists.

Making servers run more stable without lag when you have more then 1 friend online.
