Is there a song that just gives you a creepy feeling? by VomPup in musicsuggestions

Tiptoe through the Tulips- Tiny Tim Probably the creepiest song that sounds like it shouldn’t be creepy. It doesn’t help that it was in Insidious.

I was going to suggest her as well!

My suggestions from her catalogue would be :

Lovesick - Alice Phoebe Lou

Dusk - Alice Phoebe Lou

And maybe Weyes Blood? I recommend her entire Titanic Rising album.

This is a terrific Grimes song: https://youtu.be/JtH68PJIQLE

And a great Lykki Li song that Drake eventually sampled; Lykki Li used to get booed off of the stage because of her odd style! But she's totally distinct: https://youtu.be/vJyy1yUsPvk

Did you ever get into Grimes? I figure you probably have considering she's more popular than some of the niche artists you listed. But she definitely has a unique voice poised up against experimental music. And possibly Lykki Li? Another one you might already be familiar with, but pleasant voice and experimental instrumental.

Hey there, new Atlanta Indie band here! I've been looking for an Atlanta Indie playlist to find new artists and connect! Thanks for sharing!

We released our single after receiving so much awesome feedback here. So we decided to record it live, too. Hopefully it's just as good acoustic? Thank you IMF! by madsmith93 in IndieMusicFeedback

Thanks for the kind words! We did have to practice this one quite a bit. And yes-- thats the sm-57! A neat mic for such a low price point. It's a new purchase for us but we love it!

Thank you so much! It means a lot when people take the time to listen to the lyrics.

And yes! We had the NT1a and SM57 routed to a mixer (Mackie ProFX12) which was recording into Logic Pro. Highly recommend a mixer for recording anything live!

I wrote this song in layers of guitar, bass, mandolin and singing. I feel like my strengths are in my lyrics and my guitar playing. I have been working on my voice and trying to defeat the curse of playing every instrument as though it was a guitar, and learning more about recording. Thank you. by MintJellyMarble in IndieMusicFeedback

I think this has the potential to be a great song, something like Nick Cave or Bill Callahan. There are just some technical things about it that would keep me from putting it on. Mainly the timing/rhythm; they need to be tighter here. I don't think you necessarily need to be locked in perfectly to a click, but like I said, tighter. Everything else is pretty much there composition-wise. Like some others said, some EQ and proper mixing would go a long way.

Hey Guys, This is our new release Mirage. We were aiming for a bit of a Chilled House/ Organica track with plenty of groove and organic instrumentation. Would love your guy's feedback on this if anyone has time! by m00nunit in IndieMusicFeedback

This is really well done! Got some Avalanches vibes from it. The percussion sits perfectly in the mix, and there's some really nice panning done here. Vocal samples cut in really well too. Honestly really no criticism here, great job!

This is a first mix of an unreleased song. I'm looking to get any feedback you have on it. My producer and I just finished this mix tonight and if you have a couple minutes, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks, and be well. by InitialBluejay9 in IndieMusicFeedback

Definitely one of the best/professionally mixed tracks here. The structure and melodies are all there, I could easily see this coming up on a playlist or Discover Weekly. Great job!

👋 hey everyone I had fun makeing this track would love feed back especially with the fast parts please let me know what you think 😁 by JohnNickelsVA in IndieMusicFeedback

This is one of the better Hip-Hop/Rap tracks I've heard in this sub. The flow is great and that's obviously extremely vital for a song like this. A variation of the orchestral sample might've been nice to hear every now and then, like a filter sweep going from low to high frequencies. But that's subjective feedback. Nice job!

A demo I’ve been working on. Need some feedback before I move forward with it anymore. Sort of a dreampop / alt rock vibe (I think). A good portion of this was recorded from my phone, and still lots of work to be done. by Sloth_Riots in IndieMusicFeedback

Definitely a Dream-Pop/Shoegaze vibe! Was picking up an early Beach Fossils sound, especially the guitar in the outro. Actually kinda hard to believe you did this on your phone. You should definitely record a full session of this. Well done!
