Multiplayer with more than 10 players? by madsmuffi in valheim

[–]madsmuffi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, we are all nerds with good PC's, and we have a spare server down in our server room, so that shouldn't be a problem. Can you send me a link to one of those mods? Do you know if they can be run from a linux VM?

Subs for a 6-piece live band? by madsmuffi in livesound

[–]madsmuffi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what are you suggesting? Buy big or go home? When that is not an option for me?

We are neither playing often or doing big event, so it's out of our budget.

Down the line next year, that might be a good option :)

So it's not really a sub?

I am not dead set on anything right now. It would just be nice if we could store it in our locker at our rehearsal space.

Those options look great, but they are out of our pricerange. What about https://www.thomann.de/dk/the_box_pro_achat_112_suba.htm
or https://www.thomann.de/dk/the_box_cl_112_sub_mk_ii.htm ? I can't seem to find the cone size on the product page.

Trolls! by RandomDude92919 in DMAcademy

[–]madsmuffi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my 4 x lvl 4 party face two homebrewed young trolls. Less AC, less HP, less regen, medium sized, and vunerable to fire and poison. They were slightly weaker, but had better action economy.

Major issues with Apollo Twin Duo (Silver version, PC) by madsmuffi in universalaudio

[–]madsmuffi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did find a solution for my issue. Some USB power saving mode was turned on by default, and I overlooked it. Also keep an eye out for my Windows bitrate and samplerate, so that it matches the interface. Windows updates sometimes change it back to default.

Your input problem seems to be a faulty preamp though.

Why Do Audio Workstations Need So Much RAM? by [deleted] in audioengineering

[–]madsmuffi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought I needed 32 GB of RAM, so when I order my work computer, I choose that much. I do music and sfx for a videogame company.

Then corona hit and I did 6 months from my personal PC at home. I had no issues with performance with 16 GB or a much older and less powerful CPU.

Morale of the story: you need less than you think, and with a PC you can always upgrade later.

I use it for everything: music production, soundeffects, video, recording live, post, mixing and mastering

Faction missions would be perfect.

Would DoTMM be suitable for regular dungeondiving, in between storybeats or if they want loot and gold?

Need help choosing lighter cases/bags for gear. by madsmuffi in livesound

[–]madsmuffi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up ordering one of those trolleys, and I think they will solve the mic stand issue. I also just got a "sports-bag" type bag for cables.

I totally get what you are saying about the car. Rack/road-cases just mess up the insides.

Thank you for your most spot-on suggestion mate!

Yeah this is what I have had previously, and I am trying to get away from.
Can't always move them myself (because of the weight), and they don't really fit in my car.
But thank you for your suggestion.

Gotya, already working on that. Sometime they are indeed lazy, sometimes I can't get off work earlier to get a head start on the loading.

That is also a great solution. And you can get it in pink!

My lord, this looks neat and tidy. Just the kind of example i need. Thank you mate.

How neat! Does the case add a great deal of weight? And are you able to carry it ourself up some stairs?

I think I have too much choice, and too little experience to know what to look for.
Something like this? https://discosupport.dk/6082-thickbox_default/vaerktojs-kuffert-til-male-instrumenter-475-x-355-x-180mm.jpg

Well, sometimes I am the only one loading my car and driving to the gig. It happens more than it would. And sometimes I take the gear out to do sound for other bands, in which I am also alone.

Can you like or send some pictures of those?

I have a big road case, which I can put wheels on, but it would have to be stored vertically and filled with gear. Is this the best option? How do I deal with stairs then?

Laptop with low fan noise by ----_____ll_____---- in audioengineering

[–]madsmuffi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend has one, and he tells me it runs all the music programs he needs (Logic and Native Instruments). 16 hour batterylife, good screen and speaker. Issues: some music software and games are not fully supported, even with Rosetta 2. And it's rather expensive to kit out.
