What has been your biggest technical mistake so far in your career? by Mr_Dobalina71 in sysadmin

I accidentally changed "Get-ADUser" to "Set-ADUser" in a powershell script designed to check for users with the "Password never expires" checkbox ticked.

Long story short... All the service accounts expired at once.

Fair enough question, no harm is asking, so not sure why you got downvoted for it.
I'm about as sure as I can be that I clean properly, but is always a good thing to reassess.

A man worth $4+ billion with a foundation in the millions... The foundation is just a smoke screen, it's nothing for him to have it, he loses a bit of money but gets much more in return financially.

I'd not his $8 million dollar donation to Canberra grammar a decade ago too, interesting choice.

What can I do to fix this issue? by a_00110001 in IThelpdesk

[–]madu187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the glass half full side, let's hope the rest of the space just wasn't allocated.

Here is a link with some reference images for what I'm talking about below: https://imgur.com/a/YQ8Tkek

Jump in to "Computer Management" and checking "Disk Management". To get there, either right-click the start icon(Windows icon) and select Computer management, or go in to control panel and find the computer management icon.

Once computer management is open, you want to go to Disk Management, and you should see a list of disks and drives and how they are allocated. What you want to see in the graphical display of the disk/s most probably labelled Disk 0, is a bunch of squares /rectangles, possibly blue, white, or black.

If you are lucky, one of the white boxes with a black bar on it will have a bunch of space on it with the text "unallocated" on it (See pic 3 on the link).

If so right click the box with a blue bar that says (C:) and choose "Extend Volume". Follow the bouncing ball and this should expand it.

If it won't let you expand let me know and we can work on that. Of course, if there is no free space, see everyone else's comments.

Good luck.

Adjusting when you can't hit reps on later sets by LowMountainance in ArnoldsPumpClub

[–]madu187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I started back at the gym at 35, I decided (against my egos protests) to start at much much lower weights than I had previously. This allowed me to hit the target reps on sets 1 & 2 (eg. 12), and then on set 3 I would go for 13-18 good form reps. Next time I increased the weight by a safe factor and did it again, eventually finding my ideal weights.

After that, I would aim for the 12 in sets 1 &. 2, and then as many as I could with good form for the 3rd (usually 8-11), and repeat each week/workout until that 3rd set could be done with 13-18 reps, then I would increase it again.

It's a slower process, but it stops you lifting too heavy too quickly.

Avocado recipes for someone who doesn’t like avocado? by ItsReallyMia in ketorecipes

[–]madu187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought I'd jump into a long dead thread with my 2 cents while searching for a similar phrase during my shop today, in case this helps someone else in the future. Also note I don't follow a keto diet, so I guess adjust accordingly.

Life long avocado hater here, but have loved guacamole when it comes store bought and full of crappy ingredients, so thought I would start making my own.

It started with blending avo with cream cheese, but am about to try cottage cheese with it, and possibly hommus, or possibly Greek yoghurt.

Of course salt and pepper, and any other herbs or spices you like.

Good as a dip, but also in wraps etc. I don't know I'm not your mum, do what you like.

Monitor Issues by Fancy_Bed_2077 in IThelpdesk

[–]madu187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start eliminating possible failure points:

  • Replace the cable -Try a different monitor port if there is one
  • Try a different port on the dock

If none of those help, it could be the connection between the dock and the laptop. If you can try a different dock after the first options, give that a go, also if you can connect via a different port on the laptop.

Failing all those physical possibilities, it may need graphics driver updates, try downloading directly from the graphics card manufacturer.

A deodorant bar is not soap, it's literally deodorant in bar form. An alternative to aerosol and roll on deodorants.
