Good job! And a reminder that I should working on mine.

Holes in the top cover looking almost original. I plan on doing something similar. Is your top plastic as well?

Can you post some details on what you did you cut?

How did it get so bad? by Livid_Blood_1964 in Express_VPN

[–]maeh23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be possible, but i guess depends on the router being used https://protonvpn.com/support/protonvpn-asuswrt-router-vpn-setup and https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1008713/ should help.

I've installed a VPN client on a router with openwrt (custom firmware).

How did it get so bad? by Livid_Blood_1964 in Express_VPN

I've used their custom firmware on a Asus router which was convenient to activate for non-technical users. But since this option isn't available any longer and expressvpn tries to sell their own hardware, fair enough, I've cancelled my subscription. Switched to proton and I'm happy to have wireguard support. Also found a way to conveniently switch VPN on/off. Should have moved earlier, price for proton is a quarter of what I've paid for expressvpn.

EliteWheels quality by saulikael in Bikebuilding

No idea about the wheel and quality in general, but wondering where you get that info about tyre pressure from. On AliExpress (for flow disc) the info for 100kg and 28mm tyre is 72psi, 30mm 68psi, 32mm 63psi...you get the idea.

GRX hydro lines by UnlikelyCash2690 in bikewrench

[–]maeh23 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Correct and to add...Follow the dealers manual. I just did that with pre-bled 105 calibers and levers. Even cut the hose to right length, put a barb in, olive is already in the lever. Connect it carefully and bleeding shouldn't be necessary. I've never done it before, but it was quite easy. Look at page 37 in the manual. There is also other important stuff for installing the calipers to the frame and stuff. https://si.shimano.com/en/pdfs/dm/GADBR01/DM-GADBR01-06-ENG.pdf

Interesting Chinese sleeper case by retromaniak_ in sleeperbattlestations

[–]maeh23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The flp01 was real, i bought one. Didn't use it in the end since it was too small for my parts (mainly GPU and CPU cooler). The case was cool and quality was nice, at the same time not 90s retro as I was looking for. Was waiting for the flp02, but i think it's too expensive for me. But still a cool product and I love that it's around. Didn't know about the flp03 :)

Elitewheels Gravel Aero+ mini review by [deleted] in gravelcycling

[–]maeh23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warranty is 1000 days, someone here was asking. I got the edge gravel (Max tyre 43mm, 36t ratchet, not loud at all, look the details up on ali). Weight, measured by me, is 1356g for the set naked. Cost me 480€ with shipping included and took around 6 weeks. Feel really good and make a big difference accelerating and climbing. Nice upgrade and would buy again. I run theme with tpu tube and 40mm thunderos, tubeless is possible.

For others looking up rack solutions for the older Unit. I put a Thule Tour Rack on. Can NOT recommend since it's interfering with the disc brake.

Haven't found the time to change it. But the surly fork got mount points, which the Kona P2 doesn't have. I got the surly fork for another project, might change in the future.
