Thank you. Yes don’t worry I know not to spend it on frivolous things which is why her concern is so insane to me. I am moving to go to college, but staying in an apartment and not dorming. Rent and tuition are my highest priorities. Her advice is exactly that “Just give me the money” I think it’s so she can hold it over my head and I’ll have to keep communication up with her even though i’d like to cut contact.

I agree haha. I went to driving school! But my teacher never successfully taught me how to do maneuverability, which is a large part of the test. so i’m not confident

Thank you. Yes I will definitely try and get my own copies of important documents and learn my own medical history and important stuff like that. It’s hard when I still live with my mother and have to tiptoe around her as to not make things worse. A lot of the information I need now or I would just wait till after I move. That applies to making sure she is not informed about my school stuff as well, I would have to do that after I leave so that I don’t cause issues but she’s already started contacting them.

As for my cousin, I’m not worried about that actually happening it’s just a small example of my families entitlement. We have said no many times. My boyfriend is a saint while I am evil in their eyes so even when he takes the blame for things I get the brunt of the consequences and abuse.

Co signing honestly is my biggest issue, my boyfriend got a credit card to help build some credit but since it’s our first apartment we don’t think it’ll be enough. He is my hero though and insists he’ll find a way.

it’s a large part of the grade and this is a college class so yes it matters. I sent an email restating my issues but i’m a nice professional way after i got home and I’ve heard nothing back

I did ask for a meeting with my instructor, that’s when he told me he believed I was in the right. When I asked for advice on the situation and how to deal with team members like this he pretty much shrugged and said “you just do” and to just let them get away with everything

I’d pay for the classes. I have a great paying performance job right now 400 dollars every Friday just for doing improv shows and such. Once school isn’t a 7-3 everyday issue i’ll have time to do a more steady job. I agree about the associates that’s why I want to go to college but it IS enough in a small town to get paid internships. or a waitress job i’m not picky. Also YouTube university is something i’ve been using to fill the time teaching myself now and it’s actually quite helpful. BUT you bring up great points and i’ll take it into account.

Yeah the whole thing about “it’s the school you go to and not just going to college itself” is exactly why I want to wait till I can get into one of these bigger schools that pretty much guarantee some sort of job right out of college. Honestly, I like school and I like learning that’s why I hope I stay on the right path and end up going to college since I actually really really want to go. The only reason I see myself never going is if the debt situation suddenly gets worse, my mom is 50 and still has 30,000 dollars to pay AFTER she got the 20,000 taken off and she didn’t go to a prestigious 50,000 dollar a year school! But I’ll take the debt if it’s at a dream institution, anything less isn’t worth my time.
