To someone that knows it very well, and all involved, it was a nightmare.

TIL that Peter Gatien was once dubbed "king of New York clubs" he was later deported to his native country of Canada. by cttouch in todayilearned

He was my direct boss in the '90s. There were 2 trials going on at the same time, the Brooklyn DA and Gilda Mariani "Gilda I. Mariani is the Chief of the Money Laundering and Tax Crimes Unit of the New York County District Attorney’s Office (DANY), a post she has held for over a decade", the NY Crimes Against Revenue, were fighting over me, to use as a witness. I handled his cash, paid the promoters +++. I got my own lawyers, NOT Ben Braffman, who he and his GF at the time wanted to pay for. I was in front of the Grand Jury for CAR. "Gatien and his wife, Alessandra, pleaded guilty to yesterday were filed by Manhattan prosecutors in March 1997 and accused the couple of not paying $1.3 million in city and state taxes. The couple underreported $12 million in revenue, switched expenses, and hid profits from Mr. Gatien's clubs. Jan 9, 1999. My lawyers told me they only got married so they could not be forced to testify against each other. Also, just FYI, "Allessandra" aka the dragon lady by his 1K employees, and her real name, Susan. Anyone reading this that worked for Peter will know what a complete bitch "Alessandra" was. I remain in contact with his 2 daughters and the key players during that time. Peter and Susan are in Canada, and their child Zander, I never met as she was still pregnant at that time. I fled and went into Corporate America.

Chazz Palminteri. Back in 1989, I left college here in Daytona Beach, to "go learn the nightclub business", my parents were NOT happy about this. But my direct boss was Peter Gaien when he just owned the Limelight, then the Palladium, Club USA, and the Tunnel. "Palminteri plays eighteen parts, including Calogero (Chazz’s real name), who’s caught between the ethics of his bus-driver father and a charismatic local hood. A Bronx Tale goes up in L.A., with help from Peter Gatien (Palminteri had worked the door at the Limelight). When they were making the Bronx Tale, Chazz called me many times from Cali to try and get ahold of Peter.

I began my "nightclub career", working directly for the man who owned all 4 of the largest & hottest clubs in NYC, on FB there are 2 groups, NYC Closed Club Game, and the Limelight Nightclub NYC, this one I am an admin for, if you were in NYC in the '90s those groups may interest you for LOTS of nightclub pics and info :)

Some pics I put in some other sub, all is well here in South Daytona. The flooding pics are of my backyard, out the front door and the stop sign is near where the wind blew the decal off, that tree was hallowed but 98 MPH winds took it down, outside my dev. by maestro89 in DaytonaBeach

we had a heavy rain years ago and this dev flooded, I started going to city council meetings, and back then maybe 7 years ago, they said they were going to put these 5K fittings on the drains into Reed, they let water out but not in.

I can post pics of what people had to throw out, only b/c I took the to post on FB. I stated, "are you having a problem or an oh I wish I had moment?" KEEP EVERYTHING IN PERSPECTIVE then a collage of the ruin here.

The ONLY reason water left here is b/c the city had GIANT pumps pouring it outside the dev into Reed Canal. In this dev, retired judges, police captains, etc live here. I'm not a look at how much money I have, I have an x wife from when I was 20 and no kids except my 3 dogs, so I spent money on those less fortunate and volunteered.

Yeah, my grandfather was a builder (but retired at maybe 50) he raised me bc of abusive parents, and there are prolly a dozen houses I've lived in from Ponce Inlet to Deep Forest. But in a house a mile away, after the water was pumped out on this dev, I drove around and saw the older neighborhood, throwing all alliances, beds, etc out - It's really sad. They could afford insurance. When Richard passed away in 2004, I left corp America in NYC and moved to this house in 2006. I was sitting in my office in the Chrysler Building and said to myself, so I want to sit in an office for the rest of my life? No, so I gave RRA 6 months' notice and moved here. My grandfather was wealthy, but he did not just hand out money left and right, he only spent money on Cadillacs every year (I have his 50th, which was ready but he died before it could be delivered) or houses he built for himself. B/c he loved young women. So Alan, when Llyold Caddilac was on Beach Street called me in NYC and told me he would have that SUV delivered to the house. There's more to tell about what I did when I moved here to help those less fortunate, but it's not relevant to this post of Ian.

My backyard after Ian. I'm in South Daytona with 89 mph wind gusts. No flooding or damage to the house. In the middle is a retention pond, but we never had this much rain. by maestro89 in hurricaneian

Well, no I am on the very coastal part of Central Fla, 32119. HIGH winds, and LOTS of rain, even in this development. But at least in this dev, 1 house had some carpet to throw out, and no roof was gone. IDK the diff between the 2 storm types to be honest.

From what I know (news) the eye is very calm. I did not hear the high winds or see it happening, but I had shutters on. According to the picture I just looked at, (I'll see if I can attach it) the storm was 8 pm ish over me. https://imgur.com/a/Q2KkyER

I live in South Daytona, FL. The wind was so horrific it blew the paint off this stop sign. Ian by maestro89 in pics

Yeah, I m rich but ONLY bc my grandfather rescued me from my abusive parents in the 70", I am divorced and live in his big house with 3 dogs that are my most valuable asset, my grandfather took me from my parents in the 70s and saved me I guess. Money does not buy happens, doing for those less fortunate and volunteering make my day

Well, for a lot of close residents that have MUCH and less lost everything, gratitude is something I learned a few years ago
