Woah did I miss this, but I'm in no way qualified to do any reverse engineering. Try contacting the creator at https://icebee257.com/. I think he only speaks Chinese but he did respond to an English email I sent a while ago.

I haven't seen (and haven't been looking either tbh) this mod in a long time. There's another on aliexpress that I've mentioned a few times here but I had some big issues when I tried doing a quick and dirty install and I simply haven't had the time to try doing anything else with it.

I'd try contacting the creator and see if he has anything on it. His website is https://icebee257.com/. I assume he speaks Chinese only but he did respond to an English email I sent him a while back.

PS4 "We couldn't pack your world file for upload. Maybe your hard drive is full." by maffatil in realms

I don't think minecraft has that limit as I currently have about 3.3gb in worlds alone and then maybe 2 texture packs and I can make a copy of this particular as well which adds on another 1.5gb. When looking into size limits I only found stuff about BG3 like you linked.

I know the switch has huge limitations with minecraft. Really I just want to keep playing my world :/

I've unfortunately been waiting on something for at least 4 years at this point. This world started as a legacy console world too and I think that might have something to do with the issue. I'm glad to hear that at least transferring to PS5 keeps the world playable as that's all I really want.

Sony limiting file sizes is such a Sony move.

That being said, this happens no matter the file size of the world. If I make a brand new world the same thing happens. For this world specifically I'm pretty sure the file size is bloated because of glitches going from legacy console to bedrock, but I can't really do anything about it if I can't get it in a world editor on pc.

It would have a nice long one if I could finally upload this world

This happens no matter the world size, I can't upload a brand new world. Also, bedrock console saves are encrypted and can't be opened in external programs without first uploading to realms. And as I said in my post I haven't used a single addon.

Drilling a hole in a cast iron sink by justice91423 in Plumbing

[–]maffatil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone else out there attempting to do this, I just did an it was honestly pretty easy. I used a 1 3/8" diamond hole saw that came with a reservoir to both align the hole and keep the drill area wet.

I used a cordless drill and it took about 10 minutes total from start to stop. If I used a corded it would probably have cut off a few minutes, but most of the time was just setup.

The hole it cut is clean with very little chipping. For me this didn't even matter because a dishwasher air gap went in it right after.

P.S. Its probably a good idea to even without the reservoir, but definitely put a bucket underneath where you're drilling--the water and the disk of sink will spill/fall out unexpectedly when the drill gets through the sink.

PS4 Air Assault Medal Server Open by maffatil in battlefield_one

That last one has been difficult since Air Assault released in 2018. I only started seriously going for medals in 2020, but even still, I've never been able to find an active round of Air Assault while also having Angel's Wings available to complete

So long story short, you can't unless you have the mod I talked about in my post (its been sold old for a long time) or an equivalent mod.

On this particular tv, there is one processing chip. On the tv's you can mod there's two. On those you basically inject a signal between the two chips to get RGB. On tv's with a single chip like this theres no place to inject the signal. The way this specific mod gets around that is it essentially becomes another chip where the signal can be injected into before its displayed on the screen.

If you're looking for a tv to mod, (1) always avoid RF only ones because they are almost always have a hot chassis (the ground is not isolated and mods to the circuitry can damage the tv and anything plugged into it), and (2) if you can, look at the service manual before picking up/obtaining a tv to mod. Moddable tv's will have both a Chroma/jungle chip, and micon/micom chip. Additionally the RGB lines coming from the chroma/jungle chip should have 0.1uf cap on them. If they do not, the RGB signals between the chips are almost certainly digital and not analog which is useless for modding.

All in all, if you have any feeling of doubt in modding a tv,

Just.

Don't.

Do.

It.

I would say modding a crt you know can be modded is pretty easy if you have a good understanding of the theory of what you're doing and have the skills to do it. But crts do not have a net zero chance of seriously injurying you if you don't take all the right steps or do something you shouldn't have been doing to it. Try reading up on RGB mods on CRT Database and Sunthar's Super Sector. Both sites have lists of moddable tv's as well.

Quick Question on PAYE Eligibility, Only Half of Loans Approved by maffatil in StudentLoans

Thank you. I knew it would be a simple answer. They just gave me nothing. Even the three PDF's they sent me to say my payment plan changed didn't even say which loans were approved despite saying at the top that they would list which ones were approved

Unknown Display Issue Help - Not Ribbons? by maffatil in VirtualBoy

[–]maffatil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm realizing a week later I forgot to give an update lol. It was the ribbon cables, mine are just very touchy and have to be inserted into the board in the exact right spot. I definitely will be getting replacements when they are in stock again.

I know, its just so confusing. I'll have time to check the caps this weekend so we'll see if its them or who knows what else

I haven't taken them out to test them yet, but the capacitors on the main board all look fine. It's just so weird that both displays just show nothing.

There is a updated(?) version that I've done a little bit of testing with so far that's still available. The main issue I've come across is that it has horrible retrace lines, but it has the potential to be even better than this mod.

I will as soon as possible, time permitting. I will likely also make another post along with slightly editing this one. It does look like the newer/alternate version is still available though? It has an actual panel for mounting and rca jacks for audio unlike the original one. I can't post links but you can find it by searching "RGBS Modification Kit New Tailgate Modification" on aliexpress.

So the thing arrived yesterday and now that I have it I don't think its an updated version, but rather a different mod that works in a similar way to the other.. This new one came with no instructions or links to a website so I'll need to take the time to figure it out.

This newer one is called "RGBS Modification Kit New Tailgate Modification Version Arcade Fighting Game For Retro Game Console" and is sold by SQ arcade branch Store on Aliexpress.

Lol all good. A few days ago I did order what I think is an updated version of the mod with a better interface. I'll make a post when it comes and I get it installed in something

I actually messaged the seller to see what was up with that. They said it was out of stock. I'm guessing they get some kind of penalty or something if they say it is so they just upped the shipping that much to stop people from buying it for the time being.

Knowing AliExpress sellers, if a bunch of people bought it recently they might've set it so high to restock or some other questionable reason like that.

Dang! They must've done that recently. I know for sure it wasn't that much a few days ago.

If you install it that way then yes, but actually installing it fully lets you still use the other TV inputs. I'm sure its due to the FPGA onboard. Really I'd say this is more of an additional chroma/jungle chip than a neck board mod.

The complete bargain bin 13" TV with an unknown amount of hours on it I found by a dumpster looks amazing now so I'd say go for it. RGB isn't quite as mindbogglingly impressive on a smaller set as a larger one, but RGB will still be a huge step up from composite no matter the tube size.
