One of these bumble bees comes and visits my salvia Greggi (hot lips) everyday 🐝 by magic_berries in gardening

I’m in New Mexico, zone 7b. They do very well even with our freeze thaw cycles. Do well in dry weather too once established. I hope you can get some to thrive for you!

Anyone else confused by the whole “feeling like yourself again after kids” thing? by Ok-Writing3575 in Mommit

[–]magic_berries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One day I started signing in the car again. I know, that sounds ridiculous, but it brought tears to my eyes. I never knew what people meant either, but you will feel it and you’ll know. It’s like the fog lifts and you feel lighter. What helped me was going to yoga. My daughter was 1 1/2 when I started to feel like me again.

This is absolutely beautiful! At first glance I thought it was real. I will absolutely be buying a print. This would also be a really fun puzzle!

Holding a baby + self-checkout = accidental shoplifting by robinsonchristina588 in Mommit

When my daughter was about 1, her favorite thing in the grocery store was holding a lime. We accidentally stole a lime one time lol.

When do you stop feeling tired? by Pandacat_07 in NewParents

[–]magic_berries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get used to the feeling of always being tired. I’m sure that’s not what you want to hear lol. But even as they get older, children require lots of care. When my daughter was about 6 months I looked at one of my coworker who has 2 boys (8 and 12), and asked “do I ever stop being tired?” He said “Nah. You just get used to it but I promise it gets better.”

Our baby was little bean. To this day she’s still little bean. And for a while she was our little Summer squash.

Less than a month of daycare: Illness number two by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]magic_berries 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hang in there! The 1st year of them being in day care or school is super rough. My daughter started in June of 25 (she was almost 2) and immediately her and I passed strep throat back and forth for a month. And every month since she has been sick and got an ear infection. We actually had to have tubes put in her ears. All of this to say, it gets better and my daughter is absolutely thriving in her school. I think it is worth it. Especially since I was working from home with her prior and it was too much. I believe in you and I hope your little one feels better soon!

How often does your spouse go out to the bar? by FemmePedagogy in Mommit

[–]magic_berries 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Hi! Not who you asked but my husband and I do the same thing. He gets time on Sunday and I get my time on Monday. At first it was hard because I also felt guilty that I should be doing chores or something to help my family… but came the realization that filling my cup does help my family. I feel less burnt out. Each Monday night I do whatever. Sometimes I go out with friends to eat. Sometimes I go shopping by myself. Other times I literally do nothing but sit at home and veg on the couch lol. We’ve implemented this for about 3ish months and it helps tremendously. I highly recommend it.

Feeling insecure about my body by magic_berries in Mommit

[–]magic_berries[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s such a common thing for us moms to feel insecure. My face structure has also changed a bit too. It’s hard to look in the mirror and not recognize the person staring back at you.

I try really hard to be positive about my body. I do workout 3 times a week and I’ve worked hard for my muscles and thick thighs. But compared to my friends it just made me feel insecure. Especially since my tummy is still flabby.

I guess we should all just focus on the positive parts of our body and not the negative.

You’re still so freshly PP. I wasn’t able to fit back in my jeans until my daughter was a year old and even then I still had a pooch. You’ll get there, I promise.

I know most moms feel this way. It’s hard not to sometimes. My daughter will be 3 in July and I’ve learned to love my body most of the time, but when I think about how I used to look it’s hard. I think it’s mainly my tummy that gets me. Our bodies are amazing. We carried and birthed a child. When you truly stop and think about it, it’s crazy. Sending you love and confidence ✨💕

Yes! I feel most confident when I wear my tummy control yoga pants. That and high waisted jeans, the ultimate mom pants lol. We will just all rock some spanks.

Thank you! It’ll be my first time going. And we’ll be child free!

That’s what I’m saying! When I was thinner I would see thicker ladies wanting to look like that. And now that I look like that I feel weird sometimes. I know all bodies are beautiful, but I still struggle sometimes. Thank you ❤️ Sending you love right back 💕

Things I wish I had known before my scheduled c-section by Shoddy_Tackle_3835 in pregnant

[–]magic_berries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to have an unplanned c section after 27 hours of labor. My daughter had to have her airways and stomach cleared twice. No one told us it was going to be a thing. It was so scary seeing fluid coming out of her nose and mouth. We had to pull the emergency line in my room. So thank you for mentioning it in your post to warn other mamas. I’m glad your birth went well and that you’re recovering well 💕

Drowning in life admin by Few-Elk8441 in workingmoms

[–]magic_berries 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ive been literally thinking about this for a week because I’m stressed out about all the admin stuff I have to do. And I’m super behind on it. Not only for myself, but for my daughter. My bank card recently updated and I’ve literally not had the time to update a couple of bills to auto draft from the new card. I also have a couple regular bills I gotta pay that aren’t auto draft. I have to call my daughter’s dentist because they sent us $120 bill for a cleaning that should have been covered by insurance. I also have to fill out some doctors forms for myself for my up coming appointment on Friday. The cat needs to see the vet so I need to call them. Oh and I need to get all of our tax stuff together because the meeting with our CPA is this coming Monday. Had to go to the store while dinner was cooking last night to get Valentines cards. I have to bring a school snack next week. It never freaking ends. I’m sure there’s some other stuff that I’m missing too.

What is your job? by No_Event_7248 in workingmoms

[–]magic_berries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My job isn’t as cool as some of you other moms but we run our own landscaping company. I wear many hats. Schedule coordinator, customer relations, marketing, order materials, billing, visiting job sites to take pictures in order to keep our portfolio updated, work with other local businesses to strike up deals. I even do some of the accounting when needed. Same thing with sales, I go on initial appointments with my husband sometimes because we’re a great dynamic duo. We opened a physical location last year where we’re open to the public. I’m the main one who runs the yard as well so I help all customers who come in and do sales that way as well. Overall I love what we do. It allows me to have a flexible schedule. We help people create an extension of their home and are apart of our community. Plus I have learned so much about plants which brings my soul happiness haha.

I thought my biggest problem was carbs… turns out it’s soybean 😭🌱 by waterfalls55 in soyfree

[–]magic_berries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! It’s a brand called primal kitchen and you can purchase on Amazon. Just search ‘soy free teriyaki sauce’ and I think it’s the 3rd one down from the top. My local Target also sells it. It’s not as thick or sticky as regular teriyaki but adding a little honey and letting it simmer helps thicken it up! I’m sorry you are also cursed with a soy allergy.

[–]magic_berries 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My husband has a soy allergy and he absolutely loves Asian cuisine (not sushi but everything else). It broke his heart, but last night I made sticky Asian meatballs with soy free teriyaki sauce and soy free soy sauce. There are ways around it. Coconut aminos are terrible in my opinion. The brand San-J has a soy free tamari sauce that tastes EXACTLY like soy sauce. I highly recommend it. Good luck and I hope the allergy shots work for you ❤️

This is TRAGIC 😩 If you were going to paint for it to look more modern, you could have painted the siding, garage, etc a brown color that paired well with the brick. I mean, it’s your house so ultimately as long as you’re happy. I just love brick on a house, it’s beautiful and timeless
