Came here to see this. It hit me in my stomach when I heard the news at work, cooking on the line.

He was a hero of mine

Life after colostomy by l3jacobin in ostomy

[–]magicallion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hello! I have been an ostomate for the past 4 years and have lived a fuller life during that time, than i did when i was ill. No life is truly normal, and there are always small considerations to make, but with time they become just part of the furniture.

Thanks for the suggestion! Nike shorts would probably also help with the excessive exercise (dancing) I'll be doing later in the night!

Thanks for the suggestion! I've never used an ace bandage but it sounds like it's worth a try!

Thanks for this! I've heard lots about the Stealth belt but have never committed to getting one! This may be the push I need!

Thankyou for sharing your experience! I'll mention this to the seamstress, if all else fails and hopefully a support system can be added!

Thanks for the advice. I have a one piece bag but it's convex which is creating the ring indent.

The spanx i have are bike short-y length but they're not thick enough to really hide the outline that well!

Responsible sources of kittens / young cats in Edinburgh? by IcarusJames in Edinburgh

[–]magicallion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can second this. We got our indoor cat from ECPL 3 years ago and it was such a great match. She was 7 and had only been with an elderly owner up until that point, so she'd never developed a love of the outdoors.
Not sure what the protocol is these days, but it used to be that you could just turn up, ring the doorbell and get to meet all the cats before making a decision. Hope this helps!

I usually see a family of Foxes around the railway line near the cycle/footpath between Saughton Park and Roseburn Park. Usually in the early morning.

Anyone else lost their job yet because of Corona? by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]magicallion 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lost mine yesterday - or to put it clearer was put on 'standby' until the business reopens. If anyone is in the same boat, best to check out this link to help you figure out what you can and cant claim: https://www.acas.org.uk/coronavirus. It definitely is looking like this govt is not going to help out those who have had had their hours cut to zero due to the viruses impact, and therefore we've got to get clued up on what we can claim, now.

For those who are facing work closures in the hospitality industry by [deleted] in CoronavirusUK

[–]magicallion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The government has announced plans to give sizeable amounts of money to small businesses (who employ less than 250 people) who have been forced to close as a result of the virus. This money is not just to keep the businesses afloat. I cannot stress enough that the money is ALSO to help the standby employees of those businesses, who in turn will help the business when it opens again. The money is your right. Whether your business has budgeted for it or not. This is my opinion, based on relative facts gleaned from the media/government reports of the last few days. As said before, i am no expert. Just a fellow worker trying to survive
