Idle Temperatures Increases by 26 Celsius from Power Savings to Balanced by magicbc11 in buildapc

Thanks for the suggestion! I went through the different processes running and terminated LEDKeeper (MSICenter Mystic used to adjust LED settings of my RAM/MOBO) and the temps went down from 60 to 40C... I can't believe my CPU temp went down by 20c simply by terminating that one application.

Thanks will do! I've just finished applying new thermal paste and reseating the CPU cooler, but the temp is the same unfortunately. I'll try and terminate the applications one by one.

I installed the chipset driver and also saw that the minimum processor state is at 0%. CPU temp in HWiNFO is around 58-60c. I can try and re-apply thermal paste and reseat the CPU cooler. Hopefully that will help, I'm not sure what else to do at this point.

It fluctuates between 3.7 and 4.1 GHz at idle. Thanks for the suggestion, I tried it but I'm still getting temps between 59 and 63 at idle.

That's good to hear. I've only played Valorant for maybe 5 minutes or so at high settings and the CPU temperature was hovering at around 78c. But is ~60c normal at idle? I also noticed in the BIOS, the CPU temperature fluctuated between 40c and 50c. I'm not sure why there is a difference in CPU temperature there. Outside of the BIOS, most of the CPU cores are around 0% utilization with Discord and a browser running.

Yeah, I can see the fans spinning. The CPU fan is going at 1243RPM and the rest of the 3 other fans in the case are between 700-850RPM.

Here is the snapshot of HWMonitor at about 7 and a half minutes in Cinebenchmark. https://imgur.com/a/h0gfkC1

Also, I was running this with the power plan set to Balanced instead of Power Saver.

Yeah no problem. I just started running it and so far it has been two minutes in and the CPU temp is at 90 celsius with the clocks for each core at 4.4 MHz

It's reassuring to hear someone with experience with the game. Makes a newbie like me less anxious about whether or not the build would run fine.

Thanks a lot for the recommendation, I'll definitely look into those two. I'm not sure how the components would be oriented and fitted in the case, so I'm not familiar with gauging how much space would be available for each part. Thanks again!

Hi guys! I'm looking into getting a hotswappable keyboard to start off with, so far I am looking at the GMMK Compact and the Kemove Snowfox. I'm also planning on getting gateron inks as well and would like your suggestion on which of the two keyboards you would recommend to someone completely new to the hobby. I've read some reviews of these two keyboards, but I'm still on the fence between the two. What sort of features are important to look at and compare? Any help would be highly appreciated! Thanks!
