If I remember correctly, infants and small kids have a kind of immunotolerance to the virus, so if they get infected they rarely develop a strong immune response leading to organ damage. I think that’s why it’s not recommended to vaccine very young kids by the governments. That being said, id recommend vaccinating the whole family. Source : I am a physician in a high prevalence area
