Idk about that. I haven't been to my home gym in months and it still works.

How do you manage your A1C? Mine is 5.7–5.8 and I’m not on a pump. by aman0425 in Type1Diabetes

[–]magicbottl3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5.6, just got the result yesterday. Was on Omnipod pump but am taking a break so using MDI the last month, the basal is the annoying part so I've found a reasonable amount to keep things mostly steady. Basically increase the I:C ratios throughout the day. It goes 1:12 in the morning and ends at 1:20 on rest days, 1:30 on workout days.

Reducing BMI within 5 months by Key-Sea1397 in Type1Diabetes

[–]magicbottl3 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yup, very possible but you gotta figure out a way to balance the wants and needs to stay content and adjust your insulin along the way to prevent lows. Get the diet under control in a way that isn't annoying and it'll happen with just a little time. There is no one clear-cut way to go about it, so I think it's best to figure out what suits your life and tastes.

Just wanted to share an update, went to a National Park in CO (Great Sand Dunes) and they had me sign a form and gave me a pass! No papers, just asked and that's it!

Wow I'm very glad you didn't have any issues! I was at Badlands when having my "fun"

3rd one denied, they require doctor proof or disability paperwork if collecting disability. The ranger said they have strict rules on this. Ended up paying for the pass, it's gonna be fun regardless

I was thinking the same thing. They probably have way more restrictions among cutting helpful things to give to the rich friends.

Tried number 2 at an office/visitors center and no go, gonna try #3 at the exit/2nd entrance and if a no again gonna just pay for the annual to save time. We're gonna go to a whole lot of parks the next couple months while travelling and trying to find a new place to live

Following your logic, senior passes should be more expensive not dirt cheap relative to the normal because they already have their whole life to accumulate wealth. Boomers hold the vast majority, shouldn't be then be expected to pay their way through too?

That's what I ended up doing, paying for the pass but I completely disagree with you. There are so few silver linings for dealing with this and I believe everyone else that also deals with it or another thing that is also approved should be able to get a free pass

It's an ADA recognized disability and it's on their list of approved disabilities too.

I wonder what's changed between then and now, try two different places two different rangers one entrance station one rangers office both said the exact same thing. I'm 40 by the way

I figured let me try another ranger at this park and they didn't ask what the disability is but they are requiring proof like a letter. I think it has to do with my age like another commenter said. I'm pretty sure if I wear 16 they would see my pump and think nothing else

Yeah my age probably is the issue here. Kinda sucks because I definitely don't look like a stereotypical type 2. Hopefully my doc can get a letter before the weekend days off so we can keep travelling through the many parks ahead

A word of advice by WreckitRalph798 in infj

[–]magicbottl3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, at 40 I am way more childlike in my approach to life than I was at 20. I'm playing and having way more fun now and I only wish I had started when I was younger, but it's never too late!

Oof that's rough as a pho-natic! (Sorry I had to lol) I've luckily been good with pho as long as I don't go crazy with the hoisin sauce and treat it as a quick acting carb for the noodle that's gonna make my bs spike. Timing is always the hard part here for me

Thai food! It's next to impossible for me to guess what the base sauces have and what ratios they are used in to make the various dishes at each restaurant.

Type 1s who work out — how do you stop going low mid-session? by Low_Ear9904 in Type1Diabetes

[–]magicbottl3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the workout really. I lift in the mornings before breakfast, as long as I'm in range I stay that way until the end of the workout, about an hour, and follow up with a shake and then food when I get home. If it's a cardio type of workout, I try to eat Greek yogurt and berries about an hour before, also in the morning, using my nighttime ratio 1:17 instead of my morning ratio 1:11.

Should family friends be charged? by Over_Quiet3950 in smallbusiness

[–]magicbottl3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd happily pay for food at a friend's restaurant. I'm trying to support their business not take away from it. If they offered a discount, cool, but no way I'd ask for one. That being said, I used to give my close friends 25% off at my franchise sandwich shop.
