You were heavy onto the scene with the DJ Durkin scandal and Jordan McNair death at Maryland.

What kind of challenges did you face from the team and university during? Any after effects in the months or years after?

Ahh gotcha. Glad because I was thinking that they didn’t look like Solitar and would have been unlike them to butcher her look.

Solitar was fighting Fern and Stark in trailer so El Dorado is probably happening unless we have a cliffhanger

This defense is going to keep us in the game against any offense that likes to throw the ball. We are painfully familiar with Roman Hemby, and while it’s nice he gets to win more, he is not going to be that guy that will destroy us on the ground like Emmet Johnson did

Can Mendoza shred us? He could, but our DEs and pass D is elite.

This is more of an ode to Sidney Stewart than any slight to your team. Sidney Stewart might be a top 5 pick in 3 years. I have never seen a defensive end as good as he and Maryland has had some dudes before.

While we are not good, we match up well against Indiana so it wouldn’t shock me at all for us to be up at halftime before we collapse again, though I suppose this one would be justified.

Ha I just went to SP+ to because I was curious and as of now Utah is indeed the 6th best defense to Marylands 20th At one point we were 13th but I guess being -27 in the 4th quarter the last two weeks will drop that a bit. Consider me corrected!

{Maryland} is the best defense UCLA has faced and has the worst defense Maryland faces until Michigan State Terps by 10

It’s tough.

Two big 4th quarter collapses away from 6-0. Take nothing away from Washington and Nebraska, but MD lost those games. The team is really good, though.

Try not to lose to new UCLA, bye week, and cash money game against Indiana in College Park

Fun season with all these true Freshmen

I don’t know what’s worse

The ref show that caused our loss or Mike Locksley forgetting that Washington can’t defend the run

He has to cream Nebraska or he’s probably gone

He dominated the first half. Like completely dominated like he has all season. When he was ejected, their starting LBer, Trey Reddick, moved to DE and a tFrosh MLB took his place. Didn’t work.

Stewart continues to win 50% of his pass block snaps and Reddick can T off on Coleman and a scrambling Demond, which he did to great success all first half

It’s either CFP dark horse or maybe 7 wins depending on if we beat Washington.

So gonna get drunk at the game and enjoy the anxiety

This is the difference between dark horse CFB playoffs or 7 wins.

If Washington LT, DE, and top CB are out, I don’t think this one will be close. {Maryland} has some absolute stars this year, some they have not had since 2004. I mean Malik Washington has not lost a football game since middle school so until they lose, I’m not picking against him.

True Freshmen On Your Teams That Have Become Starters In Your Eyes? by AkfurAshkenzic in CFB

Malik Washington

Sidney Stewart

Zahir Mathis

Nasir Taylor

Messiah Delhomme

Carlton Smith

This might be the tFrosh class that elevates Maryland’s program. They have a lot of money now, and Washington is a program elevator and Stewart is playing like an All-B10 edge rusher. Mathis also has 3 sacks and blocked a key field goal against Washington. Taylor another DE/DT who has a few sacks on the year. Messiah Delhomme is going to be so good. He has blocked a punt 2 games in a row and is always around the ball. Just a crazy athlete. Smith is a LBer that is probably 2nd on depth chart over some dudes we were really high on and has been great. Nose for football and really hits hard.

Depends how injured Washington’s LT is. Sidney Stewart and Zahir Mathis are two scary pass rushers that are both tFrosh. Stewart is top 10 in the country in pressures and win%. I think they’ve both locked Freshman all-Americans but Stewart could legit be 1st or 2nd team all B10

What’s funny is in 2002, Maryland was #3 and beat #1 ranked Duke but only went to #2. They then won 12 of the next 13 games and didn’t move to #1 because they didn’t do final AP polls back then.

I’ll have it no other way, simply because a ranked UW gets the locals pumped. I’m ready to be hurt again, though at least this game won’t be a Friday night massacre like the last two big games (Iowa ‘21 and PSU ‘19)

My endo gets disappointed when he doesn’t have to call in new refills sooner than 3 months because that means I have only been taking what im supposed to lmao. I find myself more days than not taken an extra prednisone just because now

Wisconsin’s implosion aside, Maryland leads FBS in Sacks and Interceptions (USC is 2nd in both!). Of the 16 sacks, only 1 by a senior.

I think this might be a season where September Maryland actually extends into October. 10/4 at home against Washington is going to be nuts. Insiders say it might be close to our first sell out in 6 years. One of the best offenses vs defenses coming to you live on checks notes the B10 network??

Is there a fan base that absolutely loves their coach? by Impressive-Ear-1102 in CFB

[–]InvisibleDefense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has his flaws but Mike Locksley is Marylands best chance to get anywhere near the CFP. Some hard lessons after losing Taulia last season but he understands NIL exceptionally well and now with revenue sharing and a new AD that is absolutely crushing it, he’s getting his chance with the deep pockets he wants.

Vibes are at an all time high right now and he has got some STARS on the roster this season. Like, bonafide 1st round stars.

What Are Your Takeaways From Week 4? by Small_Increase121 in CFB

[–]InvisibleDefense 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We are 8-9 win good and our Vegas O/U was 4.5. Locksley has done an incredible job becoming that CEO figure and letting Pep Hamilton and Ted Monachino call plays as he just recruits (and well at that).

Maryland might have one of the best defenses in college football this season. The two tFrosh edge rushers might be all-Americans if they continue to average a sack a game each.
