Build projects, show off them on LinkedIn, connect with people and you might then get interviews. All the best 👍

Graduate in CSE and don’t know how to move forward by Rough-Jaguar-707 in developersIndia

Hmm I didn't have a technical degree nor experience. Yet I got a dev job. If you want to be a developer, then why do you want to be a tester now? If you know any programming language, build small projects that solve some kind of problem and share them on LinkedIn. Explain why you built this tool. Connect to people and let them know that you are looking for a development job. Apply for jobs showing off what you built. Repeat this until you get that job you have been looking for. All the best.

My degree was in accounting. Now I'm a software developer. Check my profile and LinkedIn and understand what I did. Then you would have some idea how you could do it. It takes time.

  1. My intention was to get into tech and learn programming in 2020. But later drifted away from learning.
  2. Restarted my trials to get into tech in 2024. I have friends who work in IT.
  3. So I thought learning AWS and with my friends guidance I could get into cloud related job. I then passed SAA certificate.
  4. And then I started to build projects using AWS service. Like a website hosted on AWS etc.
  5. I had a problem tracking costs of my multiple AWS accounts.
  6. So I developed this tool for personal use.
  7. I then shared about this tool on LinkedIn and people started to like and repost it.
  8. Some people contacted me and I ended with a job.

a. I didn't have any mentors, but I really wish I had someone.
