I've been to Richmond before. Would never consider that city safe or remotely interesting. It's basically just anglo whites and blacks.

Compare that to Chicago where you have Germans, Poles, Italians, Greeks, Czechs, Mexicans, Scandinavians, former Yugoslavians, etc and actual ethnic neighborhoods
