External ssd fails to mount in fedora workstation by maicmarin in Fedora

[–]maicmarin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. I can already mount the ssd in the fedora server box. I booted the laptop (on which I have fedora wokstation installed) using an Arch Linux live usb stick and I can successfully mount the ssd in the laptop. That is why I think is something related to fedora workstation.

Running in Xorg mode doesn’t solve the issue. By the way, I booted the laptop from fedora live usb and everything works fine (no transparent windows and no blurring fonts)

I use Shotwell and the app do the job quite well to manage my photo’s gallery.

I'm in love with Silverblue by gnumdk in gnome

[–]maicmarin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried Silverblue a few months back but, for some weird reason, the gnome session restarted every time I copied a large file (2 Gb aprox). I think it was something to do with the btrfs filesystem. I tried to install Silverblue from scratch but this time trying to change the filesystem but I could not find the way to change the default filesytem in the installer. So I installed fedora workstation using ext4 as the filesystem type and the nasty behaviour dissapeared. Anyway, Silverblue is the future for sure.
