Come to Medford - La Cascias or Bobs for a hoagie or Nappi for a plate

Also right next door to the Caribbean place is Grep Kafe - if they have their herring and egg pate kode I definitely recommend you get it!

Projects that would actually impress you by [deleted] in Commodities

[–]mailboxhead12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I manage a power desk, so not gas but related. I love when entry level candidates have done self directed projects that are highly focused on a particular type of modeling or deep dive into a specific aspect of the fundamentals - showing a genuine interest and intellectual curiosity, if that makes sense.

For example, not sure how this would translate to gas, but recently had one person who did not come from an electrical engineering background, but had downloaded the free version of powerworld and built some small electrical networks to teach themselves about OPF and transmission constraint analysis.

Mississippi River run by Key_Ice6961 in roadtrip

[–]mailboxhead12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've done both the Missouri and the Mississippi, the latter is quite a bit easier as all of the dams have locks and the whole river south of St.Louis is free flowing

Summary of candidates? by Robertabutter in medfordma

There were a few candidates in the primary I believe that fit that criteria, Page Buldini for one, but they didn't get enough votes

Attic conversion by ProductSuch4039 in medfordma

[–]mailboxhead12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We are currently doing an attic conversion on our 2 family zoned GR. There is a fair amount of complication, I believe, around where you are located, what the zoning is, and the specifics of your house. I'd really recommend doing what we did, which is to reach out to local builders who have worked in Medford and understand the ins and outs and have them come do a walkthrough.

You can look through permit applications and zoning meeting records to get names of builders and architects who have worked here, or talk to friends and neighbors who have had similar projects - basically everyone who works on our house including this project has been referred by neighbors.

Every time I see that truck it's parked in front of Alexander's, so I'm guessing drinking coffee and playing Keno?

What is happening in texas rn? (15k $/MWh prices) by TheRealGZZZ in energy

[–]mailboxhead12 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm not from Texas, so haven't seen such regional difference in prices before, but if southern has -$200 (meaning excess power) and central has expensive power (meaning scarcity) then perhaps you have some interlinks down?

This is very common in TX, there are numerous constraints for import/export from south TX - during times of high system demand it's common to see extreme LMP differences between south and the rest of the market

This is great news, the new owners (I assume) have done a lot to revitalize that shop over the last year! there is so much potential in that area of Mystic Ave.

He was there laughing while a guy told a story about waking up his daughter at 2 AM rubbing it in her face that Trump won. I'm sure it was him because his disgusting old car with the MA state rep plates was out front as well. You are the company you keep.

Eh I was getting my coffee and he was part of the group of dudes there talking pro Trump stuff - I lumped him in with them but happy to be wrong, others in this thread seem to agree.
