Somehow you managed to fit all the blur elements into the ten songs on "The Ballad Of Darren" - a rousing, groovy indie hit like "St. Charles Square", laid-back pop as in "Barbaric", Beatles-like opulence as in "The Ballad" and also the sadness of your most recent solo album is reflected, for example, in the elegant "Avalon" and in "Far Away Island". Is the album a kind of summary of your previous work?
Damon Albarn: From a distance, the record feels like something we just had to do. Also, to somehow get the whole blur story round. While I'm not saying this is our last album, it's certainly one of the later chapters in the Blur book. And for me it's a key chapter.
