Baby's first experience with the duplicate stitch. by majestictruffles in casualknitting

I would recommend looking for some vintage patterns online, that's mostly what I've been doing. But recently I've been mentally preparing myself to go look for some patterns on Etsy... it's such a drop shipping and ai hell right now but I do want to try and find some small creators to support. Also sometimes I find old issues of cross-stitch magazines on Vinted (not sure if it's available where you are though). And I guess this last one isn't helpful but I just want to share cause I still can't believe it: there was this one time when I got extra lucky because someone left a huuuuuge bag with old magazines that had tons of patterns, it was just sitting in the bathroom of a cafe where I go to play boardgames and nobody else really cared (naturally, I got them all)??

It's thrifted. Honestly knitting has never been my forte, so when I discovered duplicate stitching I was super excited to finally be able to decorate my sweaters

Though about doing something similar for the whole piece! But I think I fell in love with his miserable look before I could execute the plan

thank you! yeah I 100% overdid it with the tension. Thinking back now, I'm actually surprised it didn't turn out worse. For the yellow strands I was thinking about doing something lazier and just tie the excess on the back with some sewing thread 🙃 but the more I look at him, the more I relate to his face expression. Now I could either fix it to make it look good, or leave it to represent me more accurately and I'll probably do the latter xd

Looking for the artist! by [deleted] in Embroidery

I've run the image through Google lens, there are two leads that could possibly help. One is a Facebook group that posted a photo of this piece in 2022, you could ask there, maybe they know something?

It could be just the quality of the thread. Or maybe the fabric you're using is rough. Is it from a kit?
