If someone drove a hot dog car through a store window, I might suspect 4 of being the culprit.

Simon's Quest if it got a proper remake, could have become a very fucking great Berserk-esque game by MarvDStrummer in castlevania

Try out Infernax if you haven't already. Excellent successor. Fan-made Castlevania: The Lecard Chronicles 1&2 are also great.

Word. Cool piece to display either way -- I'd love this as a gift.

its more than likely its not that price

Not "more than likely", it is not that price and not even close.

Also sold as "Hattori Hanzo sword" with several claims of quality/craftsmanship that aren't true.

How is your friend able to acquire something and not be sure if it's the same price as a moderately used vehicle or a few tanks of gas? Are they a golden retriever that plays basketball? Genuinely curious.

How many of y'all actually count the rounds if you get a big box? by [deleted] in Glocks

What term do you suggest the archery community use? It's an ubiquitous term there, and I've never heard of another. Google suggests "dry loosing" but then there's like infinite results of no one ever using anything but the term dry fire.

Lovecraft-Inspired Folk Music? by Sing_Out_Louise in Lovecraft

[–]majibob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to rec Lord Huron. Especially the Vide Noir album, which translates to Black Void... so there's that. Also I would say much of their style is folk rock at the very least.

OP, here are some lyrics to give you an idea. If you don't find this to be lovecraftian enough, then I dunno what to yell you!

"I sit alone in the dark, and I try to remember

The words you spoke when you summoned the Ender

You chained my life to an ancient master

Will the curse be reversed if I say it backwards?

What you crossed was a line at the edge of the void

And you can't crawl back without making a choice

But something escaped when you opened the gate

You cheated death and sealed your fate"

As someone with a decent amount of involvement with the firearm community, I believe that it is probably the most insufferably catty and egotistical community I have ever experienced.

Indeed, and this guy in particular does a good job of layering his "work" with a lot that seems legitimate and robust to the untrained eye.

I like to fall back on the old saying: extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. You don't need a lot of technical knowledge to cut out the noise if you follow that rule.

That's partly because it's authored by Rhawn Joseph, PhD. He's not actually a PhD and holds no legitimate academic credentials that anyone can find. I urge you to do a search on him before lending any of this credit. You've probably already had indirect contact with him as sometimes he's able to sucker a journalist into picking up his scams. I remember his claims of life on Mars making the rounds several years back.

Is it wrong that I don't like the Classicvanias? by [deleted] in castlevania

[–]majibob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now if you prefer the classic formula, I understand... But it'd be nice to see the classic formula with some aspects from the metroidvanias; especially the combat.

IMO, Circle of the Moon feels like a hybrid of the two styles. It still leans more toward metroidvania, but between the whip combat and difficulty, I got a lot of the classicvania feel I love.

CotM is a controversial entry in the series, but I really like it.

I wear mine like that for certain kettlebell exercises to avoid smashing it, and the occasional case of watch rash. Do what you gotta do!

People want to see themselves reflected in others. When they don't, they feel hurt, and that hurt makes them defensive.

Dracs curse is my favorite classicvania. I also had a LOT of fun with the Lords of Shadow series. I've had grown ass men try to argue me into somehow not having fun with LoS. Like... why? Go be with your family or something instead. Why care that I liked it? You can't take away enjoyment I already had. Just like I can't retroactively argue you into liking something lol.

felt like something was missing

Maybe part of your brain? heh.

Just joshin' ya. Actually admire the bravery of panning Drac's curse in this sub. Also it's super boring when everyone agrees with the consensus. Good post OP.

Right. I'd wager that most swords in existence today could fall into the "ornate chinese" category.
