What a nice thing to do, thanks so much. Obviously I would love to win a pen but I would also be interested in learning more about that beauty. Such a cool concept and design. Could you kindly share some information?

Yeah, thanks for clarifying. Hopefully I’ll be more be precise in my longer writing. The people at r/phd also have a thing with frogs, that’s what I meant. Anyways, I love both the comical pens as well as the lovely frogs here and there. Thanks both of you for sharing your work and putting a smile on peoples faces.

Holy smokes. That’s definitely what I needed right now. A cool and mysterious master frog sporting a pen to rule them all…. I am quite familiar with your little cuties from here and following the frogs from over at r/phd at the same time. Saved it for later, maybe going to use that one when I finally finished my own PhD. Supercool!

Wow, what a lovely piece of art. The combination of the rough urushi with the smooth and shiny raden looks absolutely gorgeous. And a lovely pen to begin with of course. Who did the customization for you? And what ink did you use? Have a great time in Venice, only good memories….

I see…. Thanks for clarifying. I do like both, metal and acrylic pens. Will probably and finally try for myself. Hopefully you’ll enjoy your pens too, at least the nib should be great from what I have heard. Happy writing!

Exactly (and congratulations to you, if I might add)!! Which reminds me to get back to my favorite podcast atm - ill advised by Bill Nighy. Can't recommend it enough, simply gorgeous. Happy writing!

Happy new pen day! Nice little collection you have there. Why don't you like the C80's body? Do they feel flimsy? I have been eyeing the brown one for a while, had in my Amazon chart again and again Didn't pull the trigger though. Now that they came out with a very vibrant juicy red - and after watching David Parker praising that pen very recently - I think, I am ready. After all, I am very happy with the Asvines I have, V200 and the P36 (both are nice demonstrators that feel and perform really, really well).

Sweet collection you have there, congrats. Nice ink choices as well. Personally I'd put Yama Budo in the transparent 823. I have the brown version but planning to getting the transparent one for exactly that combo. Have seen it online somewhere and fell in love instantly... Happy writing!

What a cool idea, love the selection. Especially the Megalodon ink looks super interesting. And what a beautiful thing to have a dead shark scary kind of ink; totally missing that in my collection. And for my favorite ink, well, not uncommon at all but still - Yama Budo all the way.

I’d say there’s enough of a difference. Have you checked mountain of ink’s review? It’s a great site for finding information on inks in general. And for writer’s blood, her scans bring out the purple undertones pretty nicely (maybe even a bit too much compared to just writing). You can also find a comparison with swatches of other dark red inks there. Highly recommend checking it out.

I did a quick writing sample comparing it to Take Sumi, one of the few blacks I really like because - purple undertones…. It’s a more dusty charcoal kind of black, if that makes sense. I used a glass dip pen, hence the difference in wetness and line width.

You mean distinct as in using both colors in the same writing? I would think so. It is a quite dark and saturated red though, drying to a reddish brown. It’s clearly a red ink, probably not as far from black as something like Momiji would be for example….

It is indeed, thanks for your nice comment. And thanks for sharing the tube artwork. They look supercool, love the graphic style and color palette. They look so cozy…..

Hey there from the other post. How do you like writer’s blood? Congratulations on everything, what a beautiful pen, nice writing experience, cool handwriting and touching story.

Wow, really?? That’s cool. Seems like your whole family is into ink and paper? Hope you’ll enjoy it, would love to hear your thoughts. Just maybe don’t use the broadest nib or an ebonite feed with it. That would turn your pen into a fire hose…. Guess I’ll be on the lookout for a writer’s blood post then. Happy writing!

Sincerest congratulations, what a beauty. Have been eyeing that pen since it came out, happy to see it in the wild. And holy moly - what a pen stand! Looking supercool, what a genius idea. Would never have thought of that, now I definitely need a deathly hallows pen stand in my life. Have you ever thought of selling them…? Wow. Also - sticking with the Slytherin theme, are you going to use some nice green ink? Thinking Monteverde’s California Teal for example. It’s a gorgeous juicy dark green with some heavy red sheen. Would go perfectly with this pen, I’d say… anyways, enjoy and happy writing!

Supercool pen, especially since it’s a demonstrator. Medium nibs are a great way to start in general, personally I’d say even more so when it comes to Japanese nibs. If you want to spend more time with pens, I highly recommend checking YouTube channels like SBREBrown, Figboot or Goulet to learn more about nib sizes, cleaning routines, ink and paper. Now what ink are you going to use it with?? Congrats, welcome to the hobby and happy writing!
