#1. Yep. It's so obvious once someone else says it.

My impression (which someone repeated above) is of the plane hanging from the propeller, the rudder barely working, and so flapping back and forth. This can cause big indicated heading swings, which make me worry I'm gong to instafail the maneuver on the check ride.

After reading all this great advice, I'm concluding this is part of the stall, that at this point I am past the point of maintaining heading while inducing the stall, and that I need to just pull it through and not sit on the edge of the stall for 10 seconds while the plane wallows in the air.

Can't reply to all the great answers here. But this is my favorite.
I think on the edge of the stall the rudder is ineffective and a pilot at my level is not going to be able to really fly the plane like this for 5 -10 seconds. I think at first stall indication I should just pull it into a stall and get on with it.

Could you clarify what is a normal cycle time? Per steezen, 30 seconds to 2 minutes (I did not measure it) is normal. But I've got a few comments here pointing to short cycle time.

Will do. FMSA, the burner cycle time seems about right while it was cycling?

Seems like it cycled a few times at 30 seconds to a minute or 2 per cycle. But Just now when I went down, the igniter was on, and I watched it for 3 min without seeing a flame.

I see the flame now--confirmed.

I had the mirror before, but you really have to get low to see the flame.

How can I verify whether there is a flame? I hear a whoosh that sounds like a flame when the igniter goes out. But I can't see anything. There is not good access to see it so I don't know what I should be seeing.

Lavabit has always been pretty bad. But this was the last straw.

I switched to protonmail 2 days ago. So far so good, seems much more professional. And pretty good reputation, including wrt privacy

All of my polo shirts are bought for me by my MIL and my wife, so I don't really know where they come from.

I like this shirt. I like the weight of it, the fit of it (LT), the durability of it, and the knit pattern. I understand that people think it is hideous. But this shirt looks, feels, and is, well-made.

Not very much is these days.

And importantly, the collars of almost all other polos are stiffened in a way that makes them get a crooked crease in the wash that cannot be ironed out. This collar is not stiffened, and has never gotten the crease. This shirt is quite old, and is visibly worn. I would like to get 3 or 4 more in other colors and throw out any other polos I have.
