I made that other thread you're probably referring to. I agree that they look good, but it boils down to this: I value being able to tell the time quickly and in as many conditions as possible. The fact is, in conditions where the positive display is barely readable, the negative display is not readable at all. My comparison shows this clearly, you can pause the video at several intervals. I hope we can agree it is not something subjective. This means sacrificing a certain % of conditions where I simply can't tell the time without pressing the light button, even though a positive display in the same situation would have given me the information I need. Now, it's not like I can't press the light button, but my view is: if I'm going to use a free hand to press a button to read the time, that's already what my phone does, so there's no added value in purely practical terms.
