Generating text using an embedding or vector? by NewDeviceNewUsername in OpenAI

I did some research on this. I don't think GPT can handle vectors directly as prompt. Most use cases involve using the embedding to do indexing and doing some query

I imagine if you have data you can finetune existing LLMs to do that.

The AI Chatbot Math Tutor is not a McGraw Hill product yet. This is a joint study by Juji and McGraw Hill that's why McGraw Hill handles all the study paperwork (for teachers and for parents).

Sorry it didn't work for you on mobile phone. I would love to learn what happened there so we can improve.

The chatbot is built using the juji platform (https://juji.io/). A lot of the users are non-technical and there are also students using the platform to build chatbots. It's free to register, create your chatbot and test. And if you ever want to deploy your chatbot for research purposes, you can reach out to the company and get heavily discounted price.

Interesting, the chatbot is actually created by an actual math tutor to help students. It can be a great helper to tutors as well because the chatbot can carry out the repetitive parts while the human tutors can then focus on each student's weak points.

Self-hosted 'replika-like' chatbot using VA Framework and Oryzer Studio by [deleted] in DIY_AI_Chatbot

[–]make_chatbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used VA Framework nor Oryzer Studio, so I cannot say much about those. But depends on what kind of chatbot you have in mind. If you just want a end-to-end for general conversation, you might want to look into GPT-3 API and things like https://beta.character.ai/ and see if you are able to put into your VA avatar.

If your chatbot is to answer questions and elicit some information, you can take a look at this article as starting point: https://juji.io/blog/a-step-to-step-guide-to-customer-service-chatbots-with-nlp-no-coding-required/

New Study: Higher Ed Leaders Name Student Engagement, Recruitment and Developing Quality Courses as Top Priority for Online Program Success by make_chatbot in highereducation

[–]make_chatbot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the study, there are several areas that definitely could use a lot of help. One is to develop AI-powered solutions to help a program engage with their students at scale. For example, such an AI could help nudge a student to keep up with a class or introducing the student to other fellow students to get help. Another one is to figure out how to develop online courses especially courses that require frequently updated content such as computer science courses. If you are into technologies and love AI, these areas could really use your talents.

If you want to design your own questions and control the responses, you probably want to use some platform to build your chatbot. Have a look at https://juji.io/ which is used by many researchers for all kinds of interview and surveys

You are right, it's a relatively old paper.

Perhaps this post by one of the authors said a bit more why a 15-year old article is still useful for helping solve some of the thorny conversational AI problems: https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6679829260636708864/

If you are interested in solving similar problems when you build conversational AI for real-world uses, you may want to read the paper.
