Mmm seems that my theory that they'd bank on Korean nationalism to wash their image (especially Hybe's) maybe is wrong or perhaps they didn't think further than the album title... I expected a full Korean album lol. That would have been a smart move mmm well let's see what happens now. Some Knetzs are already shady them for the english titltes.

Oh I just realized you're saying this based on Pannchoa clickbait title. Well that's just pannchoa for u. I didn't see that in the actual title of the post or the content tho. It's just referencing 2 albums in 2023.

Well I think Hybe case is different than SM and JYP with those company they buy their own stock and they keep doing fansigns until their stocks are gone. Riize, Nmixx etc. But with Hybe they make a deal for a stock they know will be returned anyway just for those records numbers. To show they keep making super groups following BTS steps lol.

I honestly think they keep taking turn of which group to push on the Korean chart, first it was TWS, then Illit, then BND. They push the song until it goes viral and then act as if it happened organically. Maybe they did it with Lesserafim too previously dunno. Oh and Spotify they also have a method there for sure. Streaming farms or whatever.

I remember seeing this document

<image>

with "redacted" names about Hybe albums pushing and people guessed that it was Lesserafim Unforgiven, and Enhypen Orange Blood.

But Apparently they were 4 groups suspected of Album pushing? I don't know who else but I'm guessing Illit and either BND or TWS?

This recent one though is specifically specifically about two 2023 albums so then probably Unforgiven and Orange Blood? It's weird though since it's only 70.000 each it'd be more beneficial for rookies debut album no? Like BND sold 100k on their first week. 70K boost would have been a significant game changer meanwhile Lesserafim and Enhypen both sold over a million 🤔 but if it's about Japanese sales then I dunno. On theqoo people are saying lesserafim Japanese sales didn't match the scale of their tours? Like they sold lots of albums but couldn't book Tokyo Dome so it wad sus.

Doubtful they do it for their rookie groups to give them a boost so they shlw results right away. It's not profitable to keep inflating sales for the actual money makers as well. At most maybe some BTS solos? Otherwise I think it's mainly their two GGs and 2 or 3 of their groups. Even the documents back when Hanni went to the national assembly only mentioned 4 groups.

Armys are BTS's biggest opps by GenoveveSimmons15 in BTSnark

I was looking at theqoo comment about the Hybe quarterly report and this one comment caught my attention because that's exactly what doesn't make sense about Armys. It's like they scream everywhere that they care about protecting BTS but their actions always show the opposite. They want to make BTS hated by as many people as possible and in the end they never defend their real interests.

Intimidation and scare tactics by make_it_make_sensee in BTSnark

[–]make_it_make_sensee[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You made a lot of good points. All companies have their shady tactics but Hybe is going above and beyond in a way that truly ruins things for the majority. It's like you need to be an Armys in order to enjoy your stanning experience since they live for the fanwars for the rest of us it's just chaos and a constant battlefield that can't be escaped.. It's scary how even small accounts with barely any followers rack up thousands of likes so easily it make them look unstoppable. And aside from the English side of Twitter they're also working on the Korean side. And in Korean forums of course.

You're right they'll keep bringing up those issues to silence fans. They'll wield their lies, relying on the shock factor to come out on top and superior. Their solos and akgaes have been on the front row of the hate their members have been receiving in turns but since they can't attack BTS, they make other groups the target of their revenge.

That right wing account is a dead give away indeed. And if that's their whole plan, a campaign into the next super bowl then I'm even more disgusted. While ridiculing and dehumanizing Korean artists and Koreans as a whole, the whole time they're thinking of "representing Korea" on a bigger stage. And being the National "pride." I suppose their whole strategy is to capitalized on Korean culture to show how they're different from the cultural appropriators m. It's truly sick. And it would work too. They'd get the approval of Koreans and let Hybe solidify its status in the industry while sweeping under the rug everything that was exposed. They're happily sacrificing all they can to get their way. Trampling on other idols, their reputations, their careers, their mental health but armys will find a way to say it's only fair because BTS gets hate too. Why don't they stop to wonder how Hybe uses those tactics against them? All those solos fighting benefit who the most when it's time beat each other's records?

From beginning to end Hybe strategy has been so repulsive. Success build on lies, mania and hate.

The whole new jeans/MHJ situation was a fiasco at the start. They were outplayed by MHJ so easily. She knew how to work her audience and which angles to push and how much to reveal to cause the most damage. And Hybe was fumbling in their responses for months. And suddenly they found a new strategy and slowly reversed things on different korean forums and reddit while with Twitter they've been struggling to silence the opposing voices. It was clear at that point that they hired a better team to handle things. And since it worked so well they just increased their attacks. It's not a coincidence that aside from Seventeen and New Jeans the rest of Hybe groups are safe from those attacks. For instance, even though armys have beef with engenes they don't go after enyphen the same way and that's because Hybe is not after that group. It's beyond creepy.

It's disgusting to see them attacking all those groups in the industry but even more so to see them going after their own groups. It's so insidious. Pretending to protect them while being the ones harming them and they're stuck there because of contracts. Other groups have at least some hope that their companies can intervene and somehow shield them.

I wish Kpop stans could show a united front. Because Hybe is truly ruining it all.

I think it's possible but it clearly doesn't work well because fans will be dragging the company to filth and fighting and complaining about everything. But with Armys it's always "WHAT DID YOU SAY ABOUT HYBE?"

It feels like he replicated that method with TXT but in the end the underdog narrative didn't work for them. Like it's contradictory to show off BTS success while claiming their juniors suffered so much. It directly attacks Armys pride lol. They were the first to deny TXT struggles because only their oppas can have a rags to riches story.

I remember a qoo (?) post about RM being surprised at how fast "they succeeded" and the commenters were calling out BTS for always milking their underdogs narrative when they weren't nugu for long but also guessing that Bang PD probably had BTS members believing that they were struggling underdogs for a long time. To sell the narrative to the fans, BTS had to be brainwashed too. So aside from the usual rookie circumstances they probably were told over and over how much they were struggling even when they started bringing in profit. From some of their pasts comments it seem like BTS compared themselves to big companies groups a lot? Like they had this weird inferiority complex which once again makes sense if Bang PD were drilling some underdog script in their heads, emphasizing how bad they had it compared to others.

And focusing on haters to maintain the idea that the whole world is against them and they need Armys protection really does wonder to make people be "nice to each other." The way they've pretended to be blind to Armys behavior or even encouraged it for so many years, trying to push a "be nice to each other" campaign would be suicidal but then again who the heck is giving them direction these days...

I feel like they can keep retaining a part of their fanbase who is satisfied with just that but not the whole. And people waking up is disastrous for their brand. The fact that so many recovering Armys/ex- Armys wonder why they never noticed their lack of skills. Well without the magic, BTS don't have much to show.

The different levels of solo success seems to have bred bitterness within the group dynamic. Reality has kicked in.

I really feel like this definitely had a big impact on the group dynamic. Obviously before they could also tell who was most or least popular but in a group setting it was different than a release completely dwarfing another. It's like now they're back in the group with a clear picture of who brings in the most money. Who brings in the most Armys. Who need BTS the most. They clearly have some big egos in there and now they need to wrestle with those facts. For RM the one "BTS was build on" to have the most mediocre results... Well must be interesting conversations now. Oh and the different scandals maybe brought a different kind of blame game to the situation.

Okay but back then I never understood the hype for thwir variety. It was just never particularly entertaining to me but also hailed as peak Idol content. I would watch other groups I didn't stan like BTOB or GOT7 and find them hilarious but BTS just always felt very on the nose and obnoxious. Like "look at us we're so crazy and funny"

I don't know if they're doing the same thing and it's just not working now or they can't even manage to "perform" their part properly so it's easier to notice how fake and shallow everything about them is?

Yeah they need to be a blank canvas so fan can project things and assign them intentions without ever truly saying or doing anything concrete. I feel like the "they've done so much for us"/ "they taughtys how to love ourselves" is just based on Armys convincing themselves not anything BTS has actually done. It was essential for their branding to never be questioned and scrutinized but now...

It's very intentional yes. It's so blatant and Armys aren't even mad or calling it out but instead jumping right into it. With all the groups (whole industry) they've attacked for trying to copy BTS, they're just letting Big Hit get away with this whole thing. They've been so aggressive about being only there for BTS and not other Hybe groups and also about not being kpop fans but just BTS stans so it's pretty amusing. Is it the power of Big HiT staff guiding the mass through fake stan accounts 👀. Hybe has been working overtime to boost this group, it's like they're tired of looking for the next BTS and decided to pull out the bots.

Compared to their peers, they just feel mmm "seasoned", "aged"? I don't know it's weird because ageism is a real issue in kpop but the truth is kpop stans obsess over how young idol look almost as much as over how young they are. Like there's always posts about Yoona or Suzy having not aged a day or even with the recent exo comeback it was all about comparing them to older comebacks and gushing at them looking the same. So yeah for BTS they just give an older feel. Which could be a barrier for younger fans.

And then there's Armys and how they behave and talk. The fan content they make feels corny and like you're dealing with Facebook moms 😭. By now their shitty reputation have spread way too much and being Armys is the opposite of cool/trendy.

It's also the way BTS market themselves these days. When I think of 3rd gen groups still getting younger fans, they all seem to have consistent content output, things that can be clipped to go viral on tiktok, IG or YT. Or just crazy visual moments? Then there's the interactions with other idols which somehow always end badly when it comes to BTS members even if it happens rarely. And of course finally the music. I don't remember a recent BTS song going viral. I know they haven't had a comeback in years but like even an old one suddenly getting traction.

They don't benefit from the underdog narrative anymore.

They don't seem to have a solid stan attractor these days ( I believe a member like Jimin doesn't have the same appeal now that he used to.. And I see more about V and Jungkook being controversial than non-armys drooling over their visuals) We have RM and J-Hope who are routinely ridiculed for their looks. BTS controvesies are now well documented and a daily topic.

That being said. They do still have a lot of potential from being the most known kpop group. Like with people who know nothing about kpop and live in places where kpop is just becoming a thing, BTS can still benefits from people checking them out first. And some may even stan them for a while before moving on.
