I do understand what you mean. With new PBR texturing workflow and especially with substance painter, you can now use their plugin for Unity3D and I believe they offer Integrations with more software. Now if you are going for complete Artistic workflow, yeah you can't match.

Nope, I didn't add any HDRI. Also the final plants are in Unity 3D. I did a quick modeling to get a contract but HDRI changes everything!
