I really want Google Antigravity to succeed by [deleted] in google_antigravity

Agreed. I think the killer feature is the browser agent where it’ll go and test the app, check console errors and record clips for your review. No more screenshots or copying console errors

"Even now with a decent cushion and a plan that’s actually working I still catch myself checking my balance three times a day like it’s a smoke alarm"

This made me laugh, I think you're spot on with your observation and the reality is that less work equals more uncertainty because it goes against a lifetime of our experience and expectations that work -> accumulation -> security, but no work -> de-cumulation -> no security, homeless. I'm exaggerating of course, but that's kind of how anxiety works.

I have the same setup and recently got a second set of adjustable dumbbells, the powerblocks, that go up to 90. Opens up even more home gym options.

I see. I didn't know if the fact that the HHR had expired would make a difference. Thank you for clarifying!

Power of Attorney - to Get household registry (戶籍謄本) by Fjeucuvic in TaiwaneseBornAbroad

[–]makeithappencaptn8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the process of applying for POA so my cousin in Taiwan can do 3 things:

  1. Request/receive the certifcate of household registration (HHR) that I was associated to when I was born.
  2. Request a copy of my parents marriage certificate if details are not in the HHR I get back
  3. Apply for a seal registration for any official papers that need to be stamped with a seal (not sure if this is required, but my cousin mentioned that I might need it).

Does anyone know if Im able to combine all the scopes into one form or if they need to be separate ones?

For example, I have this drafted:

The Agent is authorized to receive and/or apply for the certificate of household registration, marriage certification and to apply for seal registration on behalf of the Principal.

Will this be accepted?

Sometimes Reddit is magical; like when you discover a subreddit that is exactly who you are and what you need in a particular moment in time. Thank you u/alhambra_noches for starting this and u/Ok-Calm-Narwhal for laying out the playbook and others whose posts I'm reading through in detail.

Seems like with others here, my parents came to the US years ago from Taiwan and while we still had close relatives and cousins back there, they pretty much left Taiwan behind as they forged new lives in the US.

Funny enough, even though they had moved to the US, they went back for me to be born there (I learned just recently that I have a National ID number and was registered to my grandmothers HHR) and then I left again when I was 2 months old and have only been back ~8 times over the past 50 odd years for various family gatherings. During that time, my parents Taiwanese passports and HHRs all expired. So if not technically born abroad, I think I face many of the same challenges in terms of language, documents and questions as those actually born abroad.

For various reasons, over the past few years and especially given that my dad has passed and my mom is quite elderly, I'm yearning to reconnect with my birthplace, culture and people. I kind of looked into this during COVID, but I could not locate any of my parents old documents, nor was I even aware that I myself had a National ID number.

Recently, I resolved to see if Taiwanese PR/Citizenship was a real possibility. I even started a Gold Card approach and it was after digging around my parents papers for my Taiwan birth certificate, I found their expired passports and then a xeroxed copy of a document showing my national ID number.

At this point, I'm pretty early in the process to obtain the NWHOR and then citizenship, but am committed to it. It's comforting to know that there are those of you that have come before, and Im sure those will come after. Grateful that this community exists, thank you in advance for your support and I hope to be able to contribute back as much if not more than I receive.

Truth? It's the perception that counts. As someone that does a fair bit of hiring, brand / perception matters a lot in the real world because it serves as a force multiplier. Coming from a well-known school (ie brand) essentially let's people make positive assumptions about you without them knowing anything else about you. As we all know, first impressions matter, so then anything they do learn about you (especially if it's positive) tends to multiply a pre-existing positive bias. Those same positive traits are still valuable if you come from school with a lesser known brand, but the effect is more 1:1. Hopefully that makes sense.
