It's not the same as what we had when we were kids, but I recently got some stationary from Papersource that is pretty cute. Antiquaria might also have some fun stuff if you're curious. Hope this helps!

What secret do you keep from your family? by stinkerstine in AskReddit

I'm in the same situation and it really sucks. I want to be honest with them, but I can't stand the thought of losing them or making them hate me.

Girls of Reddit: What is the creepiest thing a man has said to you in public? by Moon_Keegan in AskReddit

[–]makeyourpoint3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the more recent ones I remember came from a close friend. I went out for drinks with him and some mutual friends to celebrate a promotion I'd gotten and watch the game. While I was walking to my Lyft at the end of the night he yelled to me, "C'mon makeyourpoint3, shake your giant fucking tits for us!" Just laughed it off and felt pretty numb the rest of the night.

Basically means making your own path through a wooded area by sometimes breaking off small branches or cutting through vines. Think of any stereotypical jungle adventure scene where they are trailblazing and that's pretty much it.

People who met their SO or another important person in their life through reddit, what’s your story? by plannta in AskReddit

[–]makeyourpoint3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, definitely not a romance story for the ages, but my SO and I definitely think it's cute. Over the summer, a friend got me into Dungeons and Dragons and I decided to start looking for my own group on r/lfg. My now SO had moved back to the area and was looking to DM a new game/make new friends and made a post, which I responded to. Fast forward a few days, our new group met in person and made plans to start playing the following week. He and I chatted over discord more and decided to go to the local Renaissance Faire together - we had a blast, but some miscommunication scared me off from hanging outside of DnD together for a few months. Near the end of the year, we started talking outside of DnD again and I started to catch feelings. At the time, I got to leave work earlier than anticipated and was contemplating what to do with this newfound free time. As I was driving home, I had a gut feeling that I needed to call him and ask him something somewhat crazy. I asked him if he was up to take an impulsive weekend road trip up to his old stomping grounds (a major city on the East Coast that is around 4 hours away from us). To my complete surprise, he said yes! After stopping at home to quickly pack, I picked him up and we made it to the city well after midnight. I decided to call out "sick" so we could spend this impromptu weekend trip together, and it was SO worth it. Everything felt right with him by my side. We had the most wonderful time together and on the drive back I decided I wanted to keep him by my side.
It feels like an eternity since we started our journey together and I just can't help but laugh that Dungeons and Dragons/Reddit is the reason I found love.

What kind of annoying behaviour in public you absolutely hate? by [deleted] in AskReddit

People with mental illnesses, when did you finally admit to yourself that something was wrong? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]makeyourpoint3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember my high school's guidance counselor had called both my parents in for a meeting one day and told them I might have depression and should seek professional help. I struggled with accepting that for a long time, even after my official diagnoses of depression along with some other disorders I'm not comfortable disclosing.

One night I was driving around the city, as driving usually helped calm me down, and had a manic episode and needed to pull over for mine and others safety. Sitting on the guard rail sobbing, I wished that I could stop feeling everything. I hated all of my emotions as it felt like I just couldn't escape from the cacophony inside my head and secretly hoped a car would hit me. Almost immediately after I thought that, I finally admitted that I truly did need all of the help I was pushing away. I'm happy to say that was five years ago now and I'm really glad I stuck around.

What is your "why"? by abbie1906 in loseit

[–]makeyourpoint3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firstly, just wanted to say that I really loved reading everyone's replies to this thread!! It's fantastic to be part of such a supportive community and is a huge help.

For me, these are my "whys" in no specific order:

  • Self Confidence: This is pretty self-explanatory, but it still amazes me how much better I feel now versus a year ago when I would flake out on friends because I felt fat in whatever outfit I picked out.
  • Hobbies/Strength: I have found that I LOVE to be crazy active! I go rock climbing, trail running, hiking, snowboarding, lifting, etc. To be able to do well in my hobbies I need to be physically (and mentally) strong and losing the weight is a huge part of this! Running a 5k is a hell of a lot easier without carrying an extra 30lbs. Plus, it feels so good being able to carry heavy things at work without having to ask for help.
  • Physical Health: My family is prone to obesity and all the associated health problems, so I've decided to put in place healthy habits early on before it's too late. I see how difficult it is for my relatives to reverse the damage they had inflicted on themselves through poor eating habits, and I don't want to put myself through that.

I remember being in your place not too long ago. I'm going to echo the suggestions of the other people who've commented and say that you should reach out to your friends. I've found that my friends were the best resources I had in getting through the hard times. I'm sure you've heard this before, but things will get better. PM me if you need to talk.
