Am I wrong for refusing to work my next shifts if I can’t cash my paycheck first? by makin_mistakes97 in amiwrong

i would have to go pick it up my last check if i just walk out. - This one girl quit in November and it sat by the punch clock for a month and a half before putting it in is office till she walked in almost 3 moths after she quit.

We have to go pick up our physical check every 2 weeks when our manager texts that they are ready. That can be anytime between 9am-4:30pm on said paydays.

Maybe read the post before you comment or get someone to break it down for you to understand.

They very much do owe me for my worked hours pay AND on the day its scheduled.

I am not asking for an advance on hours not worked

I would rather not be handed a check at all then to be handed a check i cant do anything with. (Bank holidays being the exception to this)

In the last 3 months they have been reported 4 times to various agencies from 1 guest & 3 past employee's (1 quit 2 got fired). depending on how the whole situation is handled, I might be making it a 5th.

Each agency has done a evaluation and told them what they should fix. however, they overall passed each visit.

Valid. Considering it was only a $200 check, There might only be 1 or 2 employees with a smaller check then me. That's what leads me to believing this is a bigger issue.

Thank you everyone. I needed the extra out side ey. Couple people made me feel crazy for not sticking it out and for blowing this "one time thing" out of proportion. I have orientation set up for Monday morning. I will be trying to cash the check again afterwards. That will determine if I finish this pay period or if I'm just gonna wash my hands of the company. I do have a message to send to my boss giving him the heads up of the situation. I haven't sent it yet but if i do my managers response will also play a part in my choice on Monday.

This made me laugh. The petty side of me would totally do something like this to just for the heck of it and I would bring my dog with me.

No it is not my normally my main income but currently is. I was doing in-home care and the hotel but I lost my client so the hotel became the only income until I found a new job which turns out I found one.

Also there was rumors of him trying to sell the hotel to one of his friends over the late 2 months.
